I have the exact same set up plus or minus the cd & dvd software.  Not sure what is causing the bidding to go up that high, but I do know there is nothing super special about it.   I would estimate my cost for my similar A1200 (same processor) with all the extras to be a round $475US.   Power to the seller.

The bidders are anonymous, so I would suspect shilling.

And the user is still charging 50 dollars shipping as well.

I would say that is a bit on the low side. If you get one from AmigaKit (refurbished, not new) the IDE split/fix (even a cheap one) you are looking at about $200 USD. Any accelorator goes for between 300-350 these days. I would suspect a new Amiga user, in order to get a "Compete" package would spend close to $700 (with shipping) to get all of that gear.
I got mine from AmigaKit, and with the Indivision and shipping and taxes (with an 80 gig HD and OS 3.1) cost me close to $530 Canadian. Add that processor card, and it brings it well of $700. I still have to get an IDE Express card and I want to get a Co-Processor (another $200), Plus I have on route a network card and a Easy ADF package. By the end of the year, I will have spent Close to a grand if not more on mine. And that JUST my 1200.

Yeah, but $1000 in Canadian money is like $700 in real money (ha,) and everyone knows you pay more when you buy a system piece by piece.

$700 is too high for that system all at once.  '030 accelerators can be had in the $100 range, $300-$350 would get you an '060.

Where do you find '030 Accelerators for $100 these days? Not on e-bay they go for at least $300- I seach everyday. I think this one is a '50 mhz though, Even Softhuts Typhoons were close to $200 IIRC.
'060 are tons more.IF you can find them.

I paid $350 for my '060 a few months ago, and I also just sold one for $360 on eBay.

'050s don't exist.

I'd check my prescription if I were you: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290326184655

I paid $350 for my '060, and I also just recently sold one in that range on eBay.

You have to remember that We can not see a lot of auctions that refuse to ship to Canada (or out of the US). They are blocked. But that one is very rare. But you are "special" if you can find them.

Well 700$ is a bit shy of 500Euro, which would be good price on this side of the big wet thing ..... if your the seller that is ;) But prices in the rebelling colonies have allways been a sperate matter.

@quarkx

That maybe so on the real world pricing being too low, but I was giving you what it cost me to obtain everything on my machine.  If I was to sell it my starting price would be $475 and I would hope that I could get as much for it as the A1200 on ePay.:)

It's nice a clean but for that kind of money I'd rather have an AmigaKit new (os) 1200 with an IndivisonAGA fitted.

Which incidentally, is what I've got ;)

I am on eBay a lot (US mainly - but I poke my nose into the UK, German, etc. too) This is quite high for what's been selling this past year. As always, a fair price is what the market will bear. Obviously some one thinks this is worth the money.

I don't know, its got some extras. I got this item on ebay (ebay # 160341664509) just two weeks ago. It was a power tower case with 9gig HD, blizzard PPC, 4xEIDE, cdrom, keyboard adapter, mediator 1200 with video and network controller, two fz357 high density disk drives, keyboard and amiga mouse, all working perfectly for $300.00 dollars. Go figure..

It looks like he is saying that it has a PPC "with it". Not inside it, and not used by the Amiga at all, but it has one anyway. I guess the winner is going to be surprised to learn that this is not a PPC Amiga........

If his description of the "PPC" chip are correct, it seems to be a 68040 chip and and a cost reduced one at that.  Were PPC chips marked that what?  I thought they were marked like 603e and markings like that?

WOW! So you ended up with that puppy, huh? We were talking about that on another thread: BigWolf's mint, but not really tested Amiga goodies. You took a chance (he's normally a good seller), and it obviously paid off. $305 for a PPC/Mediator Miggy?!?  That's crazy cheap. Then again, I think the near stock A1200 for $700 is crazy high  ;-)

Well I knew it had a ppc card and the other buyers indicated on feedback they were happy with his sales. I am totally happy with the purchase. I think I would have been ok with it even if the ppc did not work since it had plenty of other useful items.

I notice he has a 4000t 060 going on ebay now. Not a bad deal. Item(160347450895).

I also just noticed Ebay screwed with there website again. I wish they would leave the thing alone. It seems every month they change everything. @#%%^$

Well said.  This forum is full of them (cheapskates).  I do agree that 030 board is $200-300, non yellowed A1200 $150, Flicker fixer $200 (by the time I pay taxes & shipping from that amigakit place).
so I guess it does add up close to $700.

You LUCKY DOG!!!

That was a great price for all that stuff.  How does it work?  Have you had a chance to test it all yet?

Don't go spreading those kind of prices around, keep it to your self so it does not devalue my stuff when I have to sell it.

Just read that full thread there.  Very funny in places :)

When I sold my almost stock Amiga 1200 last year I got around £300 for it.  Had an 030 accellerator (Blizzard I think) and 16Mb ram.  it was networked and had OS3.9 and a 2gb Hard drive but that was about it. I was happy with the price I got :)

I got an A4000T with a Cyberstorm Mk II o6o 50w/128mb ram.
Picasso IV ,Adriane II,kick 3.1 , 4.3 Gb scsi hardrive ,cd-rom, mouse, keybard
for USD 845

The price was ok , but the best part was local pickup :)
Sending the computers costs alot and then it's the damage that sometimes happens.:(
