Title: Icaros Desktop 1.1.2 update has been released
Post by: paolone on July 08, 2009, 02:28:58 PM
A new update for the popular Icaros Desktop AROS distribution has been released. There is no Poseidon yet, but it includes a lot of new programs and features (http://vmwaros.blogspot.com/2009/07/icaros-desktop-112-update-ready-for_08.html), dozens of little bug fixes, a better desktop environment and improved support for Amiga Forever and 68K applications. Icaros Desktop 1.1.2 is available in two formats: the whole package on a Live DVD (http://vmwaros.blogspot.com/2009/07/icaros-desktop-live-is-complete.html) for new installations, and an update CD for Icaros 1.1.1 users. The update can be automatically downloaded, mounted and installed directly from Icaros using the brand new LiveUpdater program, also available on the Icaros site (http://www.icarosdesktop.org/). Chek it for screenshots and more informations.

I`ve just downloaded it, and now I am posting from OWB using the live DVD.
I`m really exited about Icaros. It is finally working on my PC now. For some reason, the previous versions were not ok on my machine.
My second HD has an old AROS build installed, that is working nice. Now it is time to replace it with Icaros and play :D
Awesome work !! Congratulations to you Paolone and to everyone at the AROS Team !!!

Here you can find a few screenshots (from Nikolaos)

If *you* already have a x86 PC it only costs the price of a DVD-R to try a live boot.
