Pegasos 2 G3
Voodoo 5
20Gb hard disk (I think, it could be 30, 40 or 60)
MorphOS 1.4.2 (I think)
The Pegasos 2 firmware hasn't been updated for a long time
DVD drive
A cool ANTEC Aria MATX Cube Case - 300W
Note: I never hooked the USB ports up to the motherboard.
Hardly ever used.
Will consider offers.

What speed is the cpu, how ram ?
and is this still availiable . Have sent you a PM
-
if it is G3, then 600mhz
-
anyone got experience with this version of peg 2. is it fast enough for morphos 2 ?
how hard are the g4 cpu cards to come by and how much they go for
-
and how does aos4.1 run on it ?
-
600mhz is more than enough for MorphOS 2.x.
-

Yes, I have one G3 Pegasos 2 myself (and one G4 as well).
is it fast enough for morphos 2 ?
Depends on what you will use it for, of course.

Extremely hard. I'd say that 99.99% of the people bought their Pegasos 2's in motherboard+CPU bundles only. They figured out what kind of price/performance was the most suitable for them, and then they bought that combo.
In fact, I can only recall one occasion where I have seen someone selling a CPU card stand-alone: Magnetic, on MorphZone.org (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?forum=3&topic_id=5800&sortname=&sortorder=&sortdays=&viewmode=flat&order=0&start=0)
-
so the cpu cards are specific to the peg 2 and not available elsewhere ?
-
@smithy, Hi , I had peg 2 and G4 cpu module, my cpu modue was broken then I bought a g3 from ebay, but I could not run g3 on my peg 2, chould you please send me bus frequency jumper settings of your g3 cpu module

Correct.

I have sent you a pm :-)

Sorry everyone.. I hadn't been checking the thread.
@JJ
128Mb of RAM. Not sure of the clockspeed (600Mhz sounds familiar though).
No idea about MOS2.
No idea about OS4.1 either.
@ozkana
I have no idea how to find that information out, sorry ;-)
-
Peg2 G3 is fine.
MorphOS 2 runs pretty fast on it.
But you will need 256 RAM or more to be able to enjoy it to the max.
OS 4.1 is really fast on Peg2 but I only have seen it on G4 machine -mine-.
A friend runs it on G3 and says it is fast.
In general benchmarks say that in general OS4 runs faster (!) than Samantha on Peg.
-
how much ram can a peg 2 take and is it ddr ?
-
how much ram can a peg 2 take
It depends a little on the board revision, if you use single or dual memory modules, models, etc.
http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1301&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
If it's a rev 2B5 motherboard, it may take up to 2GB, if you use *paired* (identical) 1GB modules, check the linked thread for details. Older versions than 2B5 have problems with this. Neko is running 1GB on his 2B3 revision board. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with a single 512MB. Feel free to ask follow up questions in that thread, as chances are you will get a more clever answer there than here... ;-)
MorphOS runs with 128MB, but 256MB does really make a difference.
and is it ddr ?
Yes.

Why would that be a surprise?
-
I have got so much ram lying around the house, in different frequiences etc that i should have something that works
-
What did this finally go for? I was informed that my offer of €350 was way too low...
-
A G4 with 4.1 went for 600 euro, I guess 450-500 euro?
-
The sad thing is that a Mac with the same specs would be landfill...
