Title: A2000 Flashing Green Screen
Post by: ChaosLord on July 08, 2009, 02:27:23 AM
My A2000 powers up but then just flashes dark green then grey?
over and over forever.

The LED alternates from full brightness to half brightness.

The floppy drives never start clicking.

What does it mean?

The computer was working fine one minute then died the next.  Darnit!  They just don't make 21 year old computers like they used to!

Does your powersupply fan spin?  Do you have another machine you can test the powersupply? (this should be eliminated as source of problems).

Green means : Error found in chip ram.
Try opening J500 to disable the 512k RAM on board.  maybe it'll get you booting?  else try putting another Agnus chip?

You should always clean all your amiga hardware free of dirt/dust/debrees, then the 20 year old machine works fine.
I really find that a lot of problems occur, because users let dust/dirt accumulate instead of cleaning it.  Same goes for disk drives.

Its a very dark green, not the usual green.

I don't have any other A2000s anymore, I gave my other one to a guy who fixed my car.  I guess I should not have done that. :(

So I have no other machine to swap parts with.
