Title: Override XAD archive handling in DOpus for OS4.x
Post by: Matt_H on July 03, 2009, 07:58:41 PM
On my non-OS4 machines, I have DOpus 4.x set to display an output window with the contents of an archive when double-clicked (as if I had invoked the archiver's "display contents" command from a shell). I believe this is behavior is part of the default configuration in the pre-GPL versions of DOpus as well, at least for LhA.

The newer OS4 version of DOpus 4 has XAD archive handling built in, meaning that double-clicking an archive will open it like a directory (as in DOpus 5.x). This wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that subsequently moving back to the parent directory will cause that directory to be re-read and any previously-selected files to be de-selected (extremely annoying, especially if opening an archive accidentally).

I've tried creating filetype actions to do the exact same thing as in my non-OS4 configurations, but the built-in XAD behavior always seems to take precedence. Does anyone know a workaround for this bug/feature?

Thanks
