Post by: locutus on October 28, 2003, 11:14:10 PM
How much software support can i expect from this board nowadays ?

And is any of that software okay to use on a 040/25 (060/PPC is a bit to pricy....)

Owyeah, and any idea about the image quality of the captures ?

Which version do you have - the Y/C or the standard composite one?

There was also a Vlab motion, which allowed realtime digitising onto its own dedicated SCSI drive.

The Vlab will work in any Amiga with Zorro slots. Mine was originally installed in my old A2000 with 030.

It came with its own software, however many commercial packages support it too, such as ADPRO and ImageFx. Aminet also has a few things that may be of interest.

As for picture quality, although it only does stills, they are of very high quality, especially the Y/C version (which I have). If you digitise a frame from a DVD, using Y/C, it is very difficult to tell that its from a video source.

In my opinion its still a very useful, high quality card.

It works with VHI Studio, as far as I remember.

yeah i used VHI studio to grab pics and jerk-o-motion movies off my camcorder...

that was with a Vlab Y/C tho. not sure with a standard Vlab, but VHI studio should be good for grabbing single frames or pictures
