What size PSU would an amiga1200 need with a 1240/40 processor, hard drive, cd-rom and floppy disk?
is 150W doable? :-D cheers guys
im thinking of putting two a1200's in one case and have them networked together as one machine...
not sure why though... would it actually do any good?

150w should be more than enough for a 1200, or
even 2 of them. Sparkle makes a 230w PSU for
ultra - cheap that would probably be ideal (if
not total overkill).
-
about the networking thing, it depends...
I THINK If you are going to have a hub in the bottom of the case with two newtork cards and an ethernet cable, then that could be debatable (did i spell that right?)...
If you are thinking of having some kind of parrallel processor with a raid system for some kind of server, or somthing crazy (but on a MUCH scmaller scale) like clicky (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3180872.stm) then that might be worth a shot... Don't bother with parallel connections or serial cause they are too slow, and you'll get pissed off with them quickly...
An I THINK is never wrong :-D

14' 5 x 9 x 14'5 cm, perhaps?
:-D :-D :-D
Hey, just kidding!! :-D

I've bought and adapted a standard ATX PSU for my Amiga.
In my opinion you have to buy a 230W PSU so you will be sure to have power enought!

 I have a 350W supply in my A1200T. I was going to fit a PC motherboard also, but in the end I didnt. Still, at least my PSU runs cold ;-)

LOL it seems the external PSUs i have are 25W so anything has to better than them.
i still have my spectrum 128k and 16k, i wonder what their PSU will be

i overclocked my comp so much, that i had to keep it in a minibar... i couldn't drill a hole through the door, so i took off the handle, and there were two holes, quite useful... but then i got my watercooling kit... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...water cooled :pint:
