Title: WTB: Kickstart Boot Disk 1.3
Post by: hamtronix on June 27, 2009, 08:54:44 PM
Hi All -

I just picked up a CDTV with Trackball remote, regular remote, Keyboard, External drive and 256K Ram Expansion unit!

The trackball and RAM expansion were unopened and the unit and all periphs is in excellent condition. I want to boot to Intuition. So I need Kickstart 1.3 disk(s). Does anyone have it that they could sell to me? If so contact me here. I live in the Boston, US area.

After I can get it going I can trick it out!

You are actually after a workbench disk. The kickstart disk was only used on the amiga 1000 and a super kickstart disk was used on certain amiga 3000s. Since you already have an amiga 4000 you could write workbench1.3 onto a floppy or even use makeCD and the cdtv devkit to make a workbench CD. It is not exactly the legal way and it would be good to have an original workbench, but If you want to go down that path ask and we can assist you.

Didn't the CDTV came with Kickstart 1.3 by default? It's should be a matter of just putting a disk in the drive and reboot the computer.

The CDTV does not require any kickstart disk at all.

The CDTV does not need a kickstart disk, you only need a workbench 1.3 disk if you would like to use intuition. The cdtv has a kickstart 1.3 rom chip installed by default.
