Do you have kickstart ROMs 2.0 or above? In that case you need v6.6+ Roms on the A2630 card.
See BBOAH (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=165)

I had the same problem with ROM 2.0 & 3.1
Now with the lastest Roms on the A2630 card, I don't see this opening screen to choose 68000/68030. You have the pbs with 68000 because you used CTRL+A+A to make a reboot after choosing 68030 without result => switch off by the powersupply and choose directly 68000.
Becareful also with A2091 old ROM + AMIGA with ROM 3.1 !

@23703jim

Insert a workbench disk.  When you select 68030 or 68000 hold the two mouse buttons for early startup screen.  Then select DF0: to boot of floppy.  if it works then all is great, and my suspicion is that it will, so you only need to PREP the hard disk using 2091 boot disk.  Any boot problems may be related to old roms, incompatible with kickrom 3.1 or even the 2.04.  (the roms on 68030 card i've seen are version 4, 6 and 7).  It seems you have rom 6.1 on your 2091 board - really old.

That is why I suggested buying latest ROMs from us for cbm68030 (board is fine since you get the boot screen selection for 68000 or 68030.) and for 2091 board.  Rom 6.1/6.6 is too old anyways.  Rom 7.0 for 2091 fixes:
The version 7 ROM fixes the following bugs in the 6.6 ROM
- >1GB HD support
- DMA reselection bug fixed
- disconnect/reconnect performance improved a lot
- Sync messages are handled
- Error handling improved
- Sync problems with Seagate/Syquest fixed
- Removable media recognition fixed
- Slow boot jumper now does a 15 second wait plus 300ms scan

@VingtTrois

I have roms 7.0 on both the Commodore 68030 accelerator and 2091.  I get the selection screen for 68030/68000, there's a jumper for that J304.  You can disable that or enable it.  With the latest ROMs (maybe even the old ones) there is not need to soft reboot (A+A+ctrl).  Also latest roms let you configure hard disk > 1gb.

James, try booting off a workbench floppy disk.  (be it 2.04, 1.3 or 3.1)
2091 disks are here: http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/a2091
hope that helps if you need adf (should be easy to get them out of dms) drop me an email.
