A simple question, what is your favourite?
Mine is The Settlers.

A simple question, what is your favourite?
Mine is The Settlers.
Cannon Fodder
-
Can't decide but the ones I remember playing the most are:
Magic Pockets
Eye of the beholder
-
Nebulus. It was the first computer game I ever played when we got our first computer (an A500) when I was 5 years old. 20 years later, I still play it from time to time. But I have never got past level 3! ;) Cannon Fodder is a close second.
-
Mega lo Mania.
I haz it.
-
Settlers was one of my favorites. So to was Speedball 2. SWIV as well. Oh and Alien Breed 2.
Wow, trying to narrow it done to just one .. too hard :-)
-
I know its old, but I still love to play Bards Tale.
plus,
Eye of the Beholder
Dungeon Master
Exile
-
A simple question, what is your favourite?
Mine is The Settlers.
Impossible to answer as there are so many and so many genres. I remember loving Lemmings, Lost Patrol, Nuclear Wars, Slam Tilt, Super Cars-series, Test Drive-series, Puggsy, Minskies furballs, Worms DC, Qix, Shufflepuck cafe, ATR, Micromachines... im going crazy. Too many good games to mention.
-
Colonization -> I used to play this game activily till I was around 15. I liked Defender of the Crown as well!
-
Hooligan is right. There are a lot of fabulous games. My favourites are Speedball 2, Turrican 2 and all adventures from Infocom, Level 9 and Magnetic Scrolls.
-
There are so many "favorite games" on Amiga, I really had to choose wisely.
I believe it is Superfrog...
-
'Slow games:'
Eye of the Beholder, Civilization, Dune 2, Simon the Sorcerer
'Fast games:'
Alien Breed, Superfrog, Deluxe Galaga, Turrican 2
In random order ;)
-
Too many indeed, hmm...
Ishar
Cannon fodder
Heimdall
Settlers
Walker
Alcatraz
etc
-
SWIV - because it was the first game I played on the Amiga :)
-
A simple question, what is your favourite?
Mine is The Settlers.
Wow, that's a tough question, I wore a mouse out playing Populous, lots of hours on Dune II, and I really loved the Cinemaware Games, Wings, King of Chicago, It Came From the Desert also enjoyed Test Drive II the duel, Agony blew me away, Flashback was amazing, Stardust was impressive, Pinball Dreams, boy I could go on and on but I don't want to bore anyone.
-
fury of the furries a game so nice i bought it twice(a500 & cd32)
gold box games
pinball games(dreams fantasies, illusions)
a10 tank killer
simon the sorcerer(cd32)
-
I literally Just got Lemmings in yesterday for my CD32. I had never played it before (or even seen it) back in the day. Very addictive on a 32 inch big screen TV.
Just seems to take the CD32 forever to load it up. Guess I am used to the Xbox360
-
[inserts another coin] "clunk"
Okay here we go:
Rick Dangerous
Midwinter
Frontier Elite "duh... you are slow today guys/gals"
Extensor (The tron bike clone)
Kings Quest 3 "another one for you slowies."
Gunship
"Who have I forgotten?"
-
Too many, but these are the ones I played the most often:
Champions of Krynn
Death Knights of Krynn
(played Dark Queen of Krynn in 256 colors on the PC)
Defender of the Crown
Leisure Suit Larry
Leisure Suit Larry II
Leisure Suit Larry III
Populous
Speedball 2
Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
I can thank the SSI gold box games for the 10-key induced joint pain in my right middle finger.
I played the Cyberball conversion quite a bit, too, but not as much as Speedball. I loved Weird Dreams, but I sucked at it, and pretty much any Psygnosis game rocked the house.
-
Shadow of the Beast (I still remember the first time I booted this up.) Still have the T-shirt.
Diggers
-Nyle
-
Conforming to inital reqest (not a CV quote)
F/A-18 Interceptor
-
I think it must be Worms TDC or Turrican II.
x303 :D :D :D
-

Sweet :)

Oh there's no "seems" about it, the CD drive in the cd32 was a hateful, noisy clunky affair that was one part "custom" (read: hack) and two parts fail. And thanks to some cost cutting on the part of those who made expansion boards for it, such as that nifty 030 expansion, you can't plug in an atapi drive, not even with a two into one card, such as came with ide fix.
In many ways the CD32 was my personal favourite amiga. But that drive was proof positive that satan is a beancounter and he worked for C= during the mid 90's.
-
Turrican 2
-
I simply couldn't say I had one favourite game, there are too many.
However, I'll always have a soft spot for Syndicate :D
-
There seem to be a lot of abandoned 'babies' I wonder if someone will port, update or borrow from them?
There sure is a lot of uncreative trash that gets put out nowadays.
-
The reason I bought an Amiga was to play Gods...hooked!
-
Since i posted my first comment on this topic i'm trying to recall the name of two games, damn... it seems i get nostalgic and want to try play them again (a decade after, or so), thanks topic submitter..grr ;)
On the first game, you are a detective with certain missions to complete, in general the game music is some "sensual" (iirc), i still remember some scenarios from that game, in a hotel hall..in a swimming pool talking with a bikini woman, etc.. enough info?
The second game, is a FPS one, maybe the first game i played of this type, i recall you manage a group of four(?) mercenaries(?), the screen (blue borders?) is divided in four squares where you see the action from each other.
Some of you have some idea about the games im talking about?
Thanks.
-
Mega lo Mania.
I haz it.
And Franscale wins!!!
Yup, I totally agree MegaLoMania +1

I think you're referring to Syndicate. Do a youtube search and you can watch the gameplay. Also try, "Amiga Gameplay" on youtube, you might find the other.
-
Shadow of the Beast
Beach Volley
Battle Squadrom
Turrican
T-Zero (Aga only with cool gfx and lot's of sprites:))
-
K240 is my all time favorite Amiga game.
Close runners up-
Frontier: Elite II
Worms DC
Diggers (CD32)
Wing Commander

Leasure suit larry? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leasure_Suit_Larry)

Hired Guns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hired_Guns). I only ever played the demo of that, thought it really rather good, very atmospheric.
Some of you have some idea about the games im talking about?
Thanks.
Might do :)
-
Leasure suit larry? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leasure_Suit_Larry)
No, it is not, i think the game i mean may comes from early 90s and may i played it with my A500 on that time.
The graphics was much better than those of Larry (IIRC, as shown on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ST_Leisure_Suit_Larry.png) at least), like those "human-realistic" style/paint in some demos (with a lot of dithering, or something like that)

Hmm was it a point and click affair (like monkey island, for instance)?
That is!!
Glad I could help :)

The only amiga game music I would love to get my hands on in mp3 form would probably be Shadow Fighters.
-

This one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu7dxRtePHM ??
hmm, i don't even remember if i played that game
but hey, i forgot youtube could be a good resource to find old glory games, thx :)
-
K240 is my all time favorite Amiga game.
Wing Commander
That was a cool game (as have been many of I forgot to include into my short list).. wonder if there ever has been clones, as the princible for the game was brillliant.
-
I was never a huge gamer, but I do recall really enjoying Battle Squadron and Times of Lore a couple of decades ago!
-
Faery Tale Avdenture
(http://www.abandonia.com/files/games/305/Faery%20Tale%20Adventure_1.png)
-
I can't believe nobody mentioned Assassin :(
That was among one of the cooler and more atmospheric games ever released. The gameplay, graphics and sound effects were absolutely awesome
-
Pick one? Impossible :D I had way too much fun with my miggy games to name just one! A few that come to mind are, Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, the Lotus series, Out Run, Assassin, Pinball Dreams, Pinball Fantasies, Gunship 2000, Desert Strike etc. etc. etc....
-
Playing Amiga games are some of my earliest childhood memories, and I'm sure I played a lot, but the ones that stick out are: Lemmings, Agony, Pinball Dreams, Dune, Another World and Flashback :)
-
For me it's Kick Off 2. Me and my brother still have regular wasted weekends on this after all these years. He still gets the better of me after all this time :(
-
Faery Tale Adventure was cool, hm... lets have a look again in the Emulator and go for a little turtle bashing.
I had to have the Amiga when I saw Marble Madness and Defender of the Crown... but the favourite? Tricksy, tricksy. Hmmmmmm. Xenon2? Gods!
-
Wow... All those retro-games! :fondmemories: :)
With the exception of all those wickedly fun pinball games like SlamTilt, and
the odd game of Castles II, I must say that what we've been playing mostly
on a real Amiga is TotalChaos-AGA.
If you know of Lords of Chaos (from the authors of U.F.O-Enemy Unknown),
you might get a hint to what the game is all about.
It's strategy, great fun, and most interestingly, it's a multiplayer game!!
If you can't rack up a few friends/foes for a game, the AI is more than
good enough...
-
Who remembers UFO: Enemy unknown.. now that was a cool game. Someone mentioned Kick off, I remember playing Kick off with my brother for hours
-

Have fun, don't forget to write.
-
Hmm was it a point and click affair (like monkey island, for instance)?
it was adventure-style, iirc it was more similar to Darkseed than Monkey Island, but can't remember very well, i may be mixing games..
I quick-looked the ~700 youtube's "amiga gameplay" games and didn't found it there (looking at the small screenshots, for most, and such captures didn't sound me), probably i was one of the few ppl who liked that game...
-

http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=1398
someone remembers it? :)
Edit2: hey, "strange" what i've just found...
The music from that game is "sea of love" composed by Moby... The same Moby who created Natural Blues and Extreme Ways (Bourne's Ultimatum)...(!?), awesome.. i like a lot all three songs, the Moby's album "A Night on NYC" is great! ..didn't know that guy was (is?) an Amigan!
-
I somehow remember Transarctica having music by Jan Hammer. But I cant be sure

great artist/musician as well.
hmm, do you mean they do not need to be Amigans by its music appearing on Amiga games, or that both they are/was Amigans who started composing using an Amiga? :)
-
great artist/musician as well.
I'm particular to 4Mat myself. Does anyone have a link to 4Mat's tunes?

Who needs a Nintendo? I think that's all the best one's covered
-
Yeah i remember UFO i loved that game i still play it today one of the all time great's.
I have to agree with UFO being one of my favorites. That game is so addictive still to this day. I just have to put it away for months at a time so I can get some sleep and catch up on things I need to do as it is too tempting to waste several hours playing it. That plus any of the SSI Gold Box RPG games, Pool of Radiance, Pools of Darkness, etc.
I still keep a membership on the FRUA (Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures) forum site and mailing list just to see what is happening there from time to time, even though FRUA was never ported to the Amiga and is PC & Mac only, I have dreams of porting it to AOS3.x, AOS4.x & MOS2.x some day in the future.
-
kick off
moonstone

There can be only one... Lethal Weapon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yAGv-SkQMo)

@hooligan
That was a cool game (as have been many of I forgot to include into my short list).. wonder if there ever has been clones, as the princible for the game was brillliant.
They released the sequel in 1997 for the PC called Fragile Allegiance!

Can't chose just one...
In no particular order:
Power Monger - all expansion sets.
Gunship - I've lost sleep over this game.
Overlord ~ Supremacy - Favorite on the C=64 also.
The Perfect General - Board game without loosing the little cardboard pieces.
Warlords - Great multi player game.
Their Finest Hour, The Battle of Britain -
The Settlers - Hated it for hours...
Chaos Engine - Fun 2 player.
GODS -
If I had to choose one from my list, it would be a toss up between Gunship and Overlord ~ Supremacy
-
Civilization

Can you not have the video embedded in the list so that you don't have to click on "Visualizza" all the time?

Can you not have the video embedded in the list so that you don't have to click on "Visualizza" all the time?

-
My favorites are
Shadow of the Beast 1-3
Amberstar
agony
flashback
Might And Magic III
-
Populous
-
My favorite: Worms DC :)
But...
Street rod
Settlers
Bubble bobble
Lemmings
Monkey island 1 & 2
Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis - The Graphic Adventure
Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - The Graphic Adventure
Yo Joe
and a lot more are also great games.
What about a poll?
-
Shadow of the Beast (of course!)
Stunt Car Racer
Moonstone
Dungeon Master
-
It's a 3 way tie for me.
- Ruff 'n' Tumble
- Jumping Jack'son
- Putty
-
Deluxe Galaga & Cannon Fodder (too close to call) :-)
-
Datastorm (http://www.consolereview.net/showthread.php?t=20&highlight=datastorm)
Pinball Fantasies
Xenon 2
Speedball 2
Lemmings
Cannon Fodder
Syndicate
Dungeon Master
Populous
Rocket Ranger
-
All of the games I am going to mention are OCS-ECS games. I have never owned an AGA amiga, well unless you count WinUAE.
Of course
Lemmings Series
Monkey Island Series
F-15 Strike Eagle II
Gunship (even if the graphics were not much better than the commodore 64 version)
Wings
Defender of the Crown
Rocket Ranger
Another World (Out of this World)- How could you not love a game were the main character is a physicist. Although it was too short
North and South - I loved the light hearted approach to a very serious war.
The Killing Game Show - This was more or less because it was the first Psygnosis game I owned.
-
MoonStone
Kick Off
-
We didn't have very many games on our A2000HD, but these were the ones we used most
Lemmings
Shanghai
Tetris
MegaBall
Lore of Conquest
some children's games
My son also played Back to the Future and one of the Worms games before he lost interest in Amiga. Sorry, don't remember the revision levels.
Shanghai, MegaBall4 and Lore of Conquest run fine on OS4 version of E-UAE on my MicroA1.

Total Chaos
-
Cannon Fodder
Same here.... Cannon Fodder and Dune - Battle for Irrakis
Plaz
-
Frontier, Hostages, Colonization and SWOS (Sensible World of Soccer). Oh, and Quake, fun as hell in multiplayer.
-
Bit late to the party...
Syndicate, one Amiga game I found truly absorbing.
There's as much gameplay in this oldie as there is in any modern title, sometimes more which is a sad reflection on the current gaming scene.
-
There are many great Amiga games mentioned here, but I can't belive that nobody has mentioned The Great Giana Sisters. For me personally it is one of the best games ever made, just too bad that it only was possible to get hold of it as a pirated game.
-
Frontier, Hostages, Colonization and SWOS (Sensible World of Soccer). Oh, and Quake, fun as hell in multiplayer.
I never tire of reading these types of threads, as they always give me new game titles to go try that other people think are one of the best ever Amiga games. I have never heard of "Hostages", can you tell me a little bit about the type of game play and who was the developer/distributor of the game?
-
Hostage
publisher: Infograms in 1988
developer: Daniel Charpy, Pascal Burel & Tuan Do Cao
Music by Charles Callet
you can see a brief gameplay here:
http://www.amigapage.it/index.php?pl=intro&modo_intro=19&file=amiga/h/hostages.flv
-
Same here.... Cannon Fodder and Dune - Battle for Irrakis
Plaz
it's interesting to see that Dune II in amiga version is "Battle for Arrakis" while in DOS version is "Building Dinasty" :)
-
My favourite Amiga game is probably Sensible Soccer although for longevity and sheer variation of gaming experience it's probably something like Monkey Island :)
