The distribution formerly known as "VmwAROS Live!" has changed its name to "Icaros Desktop", in order to avoid wrong interpretations. Icaros Desktop is a complete, independent AROS distribution which runs on supported PC hardware, being it physical or virtualized.
More about this at the official website: www.icarosdesktop.org (http://www.icarosdesktop.org)
Former URL www.vmwaros.org will continue working until expiration. Icaros Desktop will be as much compatible as it can with former distribution. At the moment, there is still no plan for a VE (virtualized) version.

I quote myself form a post at amigaworld.org:
I've changed the name because I'm sick of explaining dozens of times that 'VmwAROS doesn't mean AROS for VMware'. Really.
I had a loooong discussion last time on amiga.org, which left me still reluctant about chaning name. But then, some days after, I looked at a video made by an AROS user, which has followed AROS for many many months and... he had described VmwAROS as a distribution for VMware, too! I couldn't believe it. Really.
Changing name urged. As I am to release a new version soon, I thought that this was the right time to change it. There were some motivations "to go Icaros": first of all, myth of Icarus well depicts the whole Amiga history, and from a philosophical POV I love people that tries to leverage: VmwAROS has been a way to leverage the AROS experience to a better level. And third, yes, there is also a bit of hirony in this choice: Icarus crashed hard, and AROS does this many times. But, luckily, it's already happening lesser and lesser at every release, which is good.
:-D

Good name. Now I'm wating for the new release.
:-)

good name! :-)

Call it what ever you like . . . but hurry up with the next release . . . :-D  :-) :-P

Well, the new name does lend itself nicely to retronyms: It's an Imaged, Configured AROS Desktop, right? :)
I never really looked at what you were up to there, but from the name I would've assumed a .vmdk would be the primary package, so this does make it clear that you're not giving priority to one use over the other (or VMWare over VirtualBox these days, etc).
Good luck with it!

I can't believe how usable AROS has become. This is awesome! :-)

7z is a open source compression file format, and I can't do nothing else than suggest you to find another program to extract them.
If you don't like downloading from megauploads, then, you can always use another server (I generally provide at least two). Filefront is a really good service.

WTF are you talking about?
.7z is not a spyware infested format!
-
7z isn't spyware infested at all, but I suspect the MacOSX GUI archiver he's using is. Answer: find another archiver or use the command line.

@persia
Have you tried "The Unarchiver"?
