Based on sources of MorphOS port maintained by Fabien Coeurjoly, Krzysztof Smiechowicz prepared a compilation of MPlayer for AROS i386. The binaries and source can be downloaded from AROS Archives:
http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=browse&cat=video/play
The current state of the application is 'an early beta'. While most file formats supported by original MPlayer work (both video and sound) there are still features missing like support for network streams and DVD. The application will be however further developed in 2009, bringing full multimedia experience to AROS users. :)
PS. We would like to thanks Fabien and other people involved in MorphOS port for letting us use their work to enrich AROS :)

Well done!

It's still beta but it's already GREAT. Finally having a good GUI-driven multimedia app in AROS is a valuable addition, and the best thing is that it's incredibly fast: I can play DVD-quality mpeg4 movies without loosing frames, and even HD videos in VESA modes, on a Athlon64 3600+.
