All AmiWest 2008 hotel bookings made with the former Clarion Hotel Cal Expo before Sept. 8, 2008 have been canceled. The new owners of the hotel have lost them. Please rebook with the new hotel owners as soon as possible.
The new hotel web site is http://www.capitolcityhotel.com (http://www.capitolcityhotel.com) and the hotel is called the Capitol City Hotel Cal Expo now.
More information about this transition and AmiWest in general (Oct. 17 & 18) can be found on the AmiWest 2008 blog (http://amigaprez.wordpress.com/) so keep an eye on that blog.
Note the SACC AmiWest web site (http://www.sacc.org/amiwest/) will be updated to reflect the new hotel ownership soon if it hasn't already been updated.

IIRC, yes, the name change to the hotel has happened before, but it has never been necessary to rebook rooms due to lost records.

No I mean I remember something about a show being moved to a different date because the venue forgot about one booking and booked another instead.
