The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the public release of MorphOS 2.1, a free update for users of MorphOS 2.0. In addition to numerous bug fixes, MorphOS 2.1 includes several new features. Some of the most notable ones are the much anticipated sound driver for EFIKA mainboards, a 2D driver for XGI Volari V3XT graphics cards and a virtual CybergraphX monitor (for operating MorphOS without the use of a graphics card via VNCServer).

Great news! Thanks to the MOS dev. team for getting this update out. So glad to see the Efika sound driver fix!

Ah, great news. I didn't have time to play with my Efika last month and install MorphOS 2.0 (too busy with my kids, Minimig and Deneb card), but I'm glad to see that sound is now working.

Now that's marketing for you. A free upgrade to MorphOS x.1 to conicide with Hyperion's not free (quite costly, actually) upgrade to Amiga OS x.1. ;-)
If/when Amiga OS 5.x is released, I have a feeling MorphOS will jump to 5.x as well. Or something like that.

I think A1260 must be forgetting where he is, this isn't that other new website founded by former AW.net unhappy campers. This site encourages ALL forms of Amiga and Amiga-Like systems and OSes.
Edit: And just for the record, MorphOS does run on Classic Amiga hardware and does it for free (even if it is an older version), so PLEASE grow up.

Yea, thats the best part about this site. Anything Amiga goes. Aros, classic68k, OS4, Morphos, Linux68K, LinuxPPC, POS, Unix
Anything that runs on a classic Amiga or is an Amiga based OS. I'm feeling the love :lol:

I hate to put down any Amiga user and fully support users of AmigaOS4.x. It is a fine OS and since the two development teams have already burned the bridges between themselves, and it is not likely that a combined effort between them will ever happen (which would be my preference), I don't mind the two competing Amiga OSes. The competition may even be a good thing for us users, as it drives the coders of one team to try and better any new developments that appear on the opposite side. It is really a damn shame that A.Inc has made it next to impossible for the AOS4.x team to compete fairly with the MOS2.x team, due to the lack of hardware and licensing & court problems.
I just wish those few remaining AOS4.x supporters would realize that to most of the Amiga enthusiasts left in the World, MorphOS is just as much an Amiga OS as AmigaOS4.x is, and they would stop trying to stir up trouble here on A.org.

I can't tell if you're joking or not, so I'll respond as if you were serious: MOS 2.1 is a free upgrade from v2.0, but v2.0 is more or less the same price as AOS4.1.
On the topic of Amiga-like OS's... who would've ever thought we would get that hardware compositing stuff on our Amigas? I think its great. :)

Great news indeed. Udating my Efika went fast, easy and simple.
Seems very stable now on the Efia, too. Plus the audio driver makes this little computer complete in the end.
Quite happy with it so far /but have to test drive it more intensive the coming days.

Well.. MorphOS2.1 was promised pretty soon after 2.0 release, because of some missing EFIKA support and other issues left because of the deadline. I think 2.1 promises might have been made even before AOS4.1 was announced. It was clear that 2.0 needed quick update, it's not because of some conspiracy theory or something. And 2.1 was supposed to be released even more earlier, but some new bug findinds delayed it a bit.
