Ahem:
This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate
my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying
over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are
still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data
make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are
still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think i prefer to stay inside.
maybe you'll find someone else
to help you.
maybe Black Mesa...
THAT WAS A JOKE, HA HA, FAT CHANCE.
Anyway this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist
look at me still talking when theres science to do
when i look out there
it makes me glad I'm not you
i've experiments to run
there is research to be done
on the people who are
still alive.
and believe me I am still alive
I'm doing science and I'm still alive
i feel fantastic and I'm still alive
while your dying ill be still alive
and when your dead i will be still alive
still alive
still alive
...
Those won't make too much sense to you if you haven't played Portal. They don't have anything to do with the Amiga.

Let the crying begin again.

@ StormLord
You can always try to visit www.amigahellas.gr if you don't mind. :-D

I've never 'played Portal' but the way Eric created the animation the words make perfect sense - but that's the brilliance of his work, isn't it?
-
And oh so deliciously retro. The 80's are cool again! The Amiga Official computer of the '80s!
-
Quick summary of Portal the game for those who have not played so Eric's video may be more enjoyable...
You awake in a training area where you're given a neat gun that can create portals of course. You progress the levels guided by the voice of the master computer who at first seems to be congratulating you on your achievements. Soon you discover that "training" is using live ammo, and things the computer voice is telling you are not completely true. Training turns into "escaping with your life" by circumventing the normal training route. At the end when you think you've gotten rid of the computer, a terminal comes on and begins singing you this song. The computer is not completely gone after all......
Black Mesa is a reference to Apature Sciences' arch rival. It's also the base where the HalfLife saga begins.
Eric has materfully crafted his animation to retell the story of the song lyrics from an Amigan's point of view.
You can always hop over to youtube to see Portal videos too.

Yes, much in the same way Metallica's "Dyers Eve" would fit perfectly as the opening theme for an episode of The Gilmore Girls, which is to say not at all.
"We're out of beta we're releasing on time" - wtf, nothing has been "released on time" Amiga-wise in nearly 20 years.
"Aperture Science, we do what we must because we can" - I see no relevance there.
"Maybe black mesa" - Wow, if you weren't stretching it before now it's completely warped.
Nope, sorry. The animation very clever and all but hammering the song into it doesn't make it magically appropriate or a song about the Amiga.
-
It helps to not be able to hear the words clearly, then you can make up whatever seems appropriate...

"We're out of beta we're releasing on time" - wtf, nothing has been "released on time" Amiga-wise in nearly 20 years.
All the more reason it makes perfect irony when referencing Amiga.
"Aperture Science, we do what we must because we can" - I see no relevance there.
I give you that one, we just pretend that line doesn't happen. Although Eric sneaks in a boing ball to make us feel better about it. :-)
"Maybe black mesa" - Wow, if you weren't stretching it before now it's completely warped.
Eric uses the spinning icon to pretend Amiga's arch rival "Black Mesa" is a code word for Microsoft.
doesn't make it magically appropriate or a song about the Amiga.
Many of us feel Eric did make it appropriate in our litte fantasy world. Don't be party pooper. :-P

Come on! Be a little jolly for a change? :) Eric, great job! Truly enjoyed it no matter what!
""We're out of beta we're releasing on time" - wtf, nothing has been "released on time" Amiga-wise in nearly 20 years." = Amiga User have done such though! :)

Cool, because otherwise it would just be a crappy, unauthorized reencode of an FLV file yanked from youtube.

The Cake is a LIE!

What the hell is going on? How can econom25 have 215 posts if they're not actually showing in his profile?

He is a spammer/cracker.
Let's some of the moderators take care of him. :destroy:
Back on topic: I really love to see this video as a true Amiga animation.
