We're very pleased to announce that the native Linux port of AmiKit is now available for download so the Linux users can experience the high-end Amiga system too.
We would like to especially thank to Tom Newsom and Daniel Westerberg, this would not happen without their help! For those who are interested there's an article (http://slackworld.berlios.de/2008/amikit.html) describing this history of the process of creating and debugging a working port of AmiKit to Linux.
What is AmiKit? It's a free and legal compilation of more than 300 of the finest Amiga programs running under emulation (Windows and Linux).

Wow, that is great news! I will download that today and try it out. IMHO Amikit is the BEST Amiga emulation package. Finally a no hassle high end Amiga emulated without the lead weight of having to run Windows underneath. Thank you Jan Zahurancik! :-D

I'm setting this up right now on an old P3 Dell laptop running Freespire (Only distro that supports my wireless)
Looking forward to trying Amikit. The screenshots have always looked great.

Going to see if I can set it up under BeOS.

Crap, EUAE for BeOS still has no Picasso support. :/

Cool...
I have basically stopped using my MS machine. I am glad for linux installer.
I made a small donation to show my support.
