Hyperion Entertainment VOF is pleased to announce the immediate availability for download for registered customers of another service update of AmigaOS 4.0 which addresses some outstanding issues on BlizzardPPC and CyberStormPPC machines.
In this update:
* A new kernel that fixes outstanding issues with the Mediator 1200/Voodoo combination as well as some other minor bugfixes
* Support for all Mediator models, including the new Mediator 1200 TX
* Updated Intuition and Layers modules that fix a rare occurance of graphics trashing
* Fixed queue-handler
* Two AREXX-libraries that have been missing in the original release
* Updated RealTek 8029 network driver that fixes a lockup problem.
* A new version of DvPlayer SE.
The update is highly recommended for all users of either CyberStormPPC or BlizzardPPC. As usual, you can find the update in our download area.
We once again wish to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that development of AmigaOS 4.x continues apace on a number of platforms.

I had a hard time remembering where the download area is, and so no one else has this problem, it is here. (http://www.hyperion-entertainment.biz:8080/amiga/frameset_html?func=download)

Still no 4000T SCSI driver?
-
Nice to see that they are actively supporting OS4.
Now if only we could get PPC boards....
-
What no release to address the problems of Mac Mini Power PC machines? There's a whole lot more of us!
-
So does this mean the full DMA support for Mediator 1200?
-
No.

Regarding DMA on AOS4 (and I mean *real* DMA, not Mediator one): the CachePreDMA() und CachePostDMA() functions seem to work now, and in most cases they really give a linear memory range back for blocks allocated with AllocVec().
So it would be interesting to see if DMA capable Zorro III boards are now fully working.
Regarding my test case (the Deneb) this is not yet the case, there still are some hangups, but the situation has really improved compared to the initial release.
So, good work, Hyperion! Next thing to be released should be the new SDK, to have current includes and documentation :-)

There were also problems with Cybervision64 IIRC, which is probably the fastest ZIII card ever, are those sorted ?
Damn, I wish I had bought a bunch of Cyberstorms when they were selling for 250Eruos on eBay.

In terms of Zorro III accesses the PicassoIV is the fastest one.
I have a CV64, but not in my A4000T with AOS4 Classic, so I cannot comment on this issue.

Very nice to see that Hyperion just keeps on going :)
Now all I need is some HW to run it on...

What you said!! :-)
Still waiting, though now that I've got a minimac I'd probably prefer a solution there.
