Post by: Johan Samuelsson on January 23, 2008, 01:16:37 AM
PPF-o-Matic your one click CD Image patching software has been released for AmigaOS 4.0.

* PPF1, PPF2 and PPF3 support.
* PPF/ISO files can be drag'n'dropped onto the program window.
* The PPF code is based on ApplyPPF 3.0 by Icarus/Paradox.

A patched version of Digimon, this patch adds a nice intro with a trainer and a PAL/NTSC selector, useful if you want to be able to play your NTSC imports on a PAL system, the trainer can come in handy if you suck at playing games. ;)

Code by Salass00, Design/Idea by Spot. Download version 1.1 here! (http://www.os4depot.net/share/utility/filetool/ppf-o-matic.lha)

I love it when people post news about software on Amiga.org forums, but don't actually TELL YOU WHAT THE SOFTWARE DOES!

I can infer from the screenshots that it has something to do with PS2 emulation.  Someone using a text browser like LYNX would have no idea.

Even a single line like "PF-O-MATIC, the PS2 image manipulator (or whatever), has a new version out!" would be helpful to the many of us who have never seen this piece of software before.

Firstly, personally I don't give a {bleep} about Lynx. Even cell phones can browse the net with images these days.

Secondly, are you thick or do you just need to re-read the news post?

Well, I am pretty thick but...

..doesn't really tell us much, does it?  What does it patch and why?

Perhaps it patches Celine Dion CDs (which would be great, actually, as they are terrible).

All those PPF abbreviations are wonderful, but unless you already know what they stand for, they aren't really useful in describing the function of this software.

Obviously it has something to do with patching PS2 games (not explained in the message, but can be inferred from what I can see in the screen-shots), but beyond that, you don't really elaborate.

PPF stands for Playstation Patch File. I don't know the internals of the format, but it's probably just a general purpose binary patching system with a scene-friendly name.

I included a screenshot of a patched game, and wrote what was patched, ain't that descriptive enuff?

It patches all sorts of ISOs. Not only PS2.
And it's not limited to PS#? isos either.
