From Engadget.com:
"Clearly a match made in heaven, the doomed-but-beloved Amiga OS has been made to run on the maybe-doomed-but-beloved OLPC. It's not running natively, sadly, so the real hack here is getting the Amiga Forever emulator running on NickNeg's baby, but still, this combination is just beautifully tragic."

I guess it's more news that some other places picked up the story, but the the original news item (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47246) is no slouch. :-P

Hacked? :-?
Didn't Cloanto release an official statement just a few days ago stating that it runs Amiga Forever without modifications (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47246)?
---EDIT: NM, just noticed the post above.

What a misleading headline. AmigaOS was not hacked in any way. Amiga Forever was hacked/patched/modified to run on the OLPC. That isn't news. It's a waste of time.
Now if someone had hacked OS4 to run on another hardware platform, that would be news. This story doesn't even belong on the homepage of Amiga.org.....

I have to admit I hadn't noticed the original news item when I submitted this - but I think that any mention of 'Amiga' in Engadget (a very, very popular tech website) is worth a news item - but maybe I'm wrong.
IMHO Cloanto did a fantastic job in drawing publicity to Amiga (and their product)
I also found the reactions of the Engadget crowd entertaining - a good bunch of amigans also stood up to defend the faith :P

Don't feel too bad, I made the mistake of posting it to the general discussion a day or so before you posted it to News and I was shot down in flames too...
