Hi Bernd
Does this version have the resident tag fixed to allow the libraries to be added to a KickFlash (or Kickstart ROM image?)

Thanks Bernd!

@moto
Now _that_ would be a cool feature. My KickFlash arrived today....I am home in an hour and will try it out :-)
Do you know if it will work with OS4 on classic? I JUST revived my Cyberstorm PPC :-)

Cheers Bernd!

Why would one want to run it on OS4? The OS4 already supports similar features.

I think he was asking whether OS4 is supported by the KickFlash, not whether AfA is supported by OS4. HammerD, I'm afraid I have no idea since I can't run OS4. Why not just try it and report back in the hardware forum? You can't do any harm to your Amiga or KickFlash. If the OS4 ROM is not compatible with the KickFlash, one of three things will happen:
1. CoyoteFlash won't let you add it
2. It will be added, but nothing will happen when you boot
3. It will be added, but the Amiga will show a red screen on boot - don't panic, just write-enable the KickFlash to stop it kicking the ROM image and then remove it
-
Wow this is just great i wll give it a go if i can find time when i get back home ... :-D

Kickflash OS4 is of little use with the OS it takes it's name from. OS4 has much larger kickstart modules than OS3.x. The bare minimum of components occupy around 1.6MB with fairly heavy compression, so not only is Kickflash inadequate, but an eFlash with twice the capacity would suffer a noticable delay as the modules are decompressed.
I mailed Jens about the promised Kickflash upgrade over a month ago but have not received a reply.
Until the issue is addressed it should be renamed to Kickflas OS3.

No afa skin support more features than OS4 skin.read the news about previous AFA version and look on screenshot here.
AFA skin and zune can enhance OS4 look if maybe add in MCP or an addon tool.

here are older screenshots that show diffrent border sizes on 1 screen and realtime icon scaling

here are features that dont offer OS4 and when port AFA to OS4, then you can get more features
AFA 4.0 Features:
You can select between Visualprefs, Birdie or AFA-skin system via AFA_Prefs and a customized startup-sequence.
Please follow the procedure that is given in the readme to do so.
(In Amikit 1.4 it is already implemented as standard)
OS4/PNG Icons can be scaled in realtime, due to a high quality scale code by Thilo Köhler.
On a Classic (060) OS4 Mason-Icons in 30 pixel size can be shown faster than in original size.
See provided screenshot of scaled Masonicons, on the right, Ken-Icons are in original size.
Added for "getdiskobject" and "dupdiskopbject" following tags "IA_Width" and "IA_Height" for scaling.
Realtime Skinsystem, which can switch skins without closing the screen for switching.
User-defined border size, for any window, see screenshot at the following link:
http://amidevcpp.amiga-world.de/AfA_Screenshots/currentafa%20develop.png
A user-configurable blacklist with tasknames of programs that do not work with increased border size properly, so that only AOS standard size will be used.
Many configurable real time parameters, like 3 different borderlines.
The user can alter the pre defined Skin parameter through a GUI.
Window Title Font is autonomously from AOS window font selectable.
Position of window title font, shadow and depth selectable.
The Skins consist of several images: Screentitle, all parts of the window border like top-, left-, bottom- and right-frame. For- and background for the vertical/
horizontal sliding controller.
7 Skins from Ken Lester are usable. Follow the link for a screenshot with 6 out of 7 of these skins:

Hi Bernd
Thanks for your continuing hard work on AfA! Do AROS themes on OS3.x allow for transparency on the window borders? (Real or fake - I don't care :-) )
Also, do you know if the resident tag has been fixed to allow the AfA libraries to be inserted in to a KickFlash?
