I noticed that Frying Pan has been updated as of 31 December 2006. It is CR & DVD burning software for the Amiga OS3, OS4, MorphOS, & AROS.
Here's the URL for its home page:

Looks like a useful program, but currently no viable purchase option is available. bank transfer only for 25 euros + 4 euros (his bank charges, plus your bank charges (Which are most likely quite a bit more than 4 euros)
He should do a deal with an Amiga shop to distribute this.
-
Many of us managed to buy it, never the less :-) It's an excellent program.
-
You could use Paypal.
-
This is the only reason i never bought this software as its such a pain to buy it..
-
Perhaps he could work directly with Amigakit and he would sell many more copies.
Happy New Year
Jeff

Kicko on AW.net acts as a "middleman" for registering Frying Pan via Paypal.
Seek him out...
-

Did you read the site? He only accepts bank transfer.
As for the middle man, that's a handy thing to know. But certainly he wont get customers that way. He need to sort something out with amikit or one of the other "amiga" shops.
-
Native versions, splendid :-)
Time to get myself a copy :-)

What's wrong with bank transfers? The extra bank charge that you have to pay or something else? Just asking.

An international bank transfer from the US is typically $40 or so, my bank charges $40. It is also a long long difficult process with a lot of paperwork and standing in line at the bank.
I used to do it often when buying bulk items for resell when I was running Anachronism, but for an end user who just wants to pay a shareware fee? Kind of makes it difficult to justify I'm sure.
-
AFAIK, Poland citizens can now use PayPal in both directions?

I sent him an email and never got a reply. I asked two questions, one about the software, one about registration. :-?
-
@redrumloa
Yeah, 40$ are too much for this.
-
Last time I tried to do an international bank transfer, there was a bunch of shyt to go through for compliance with the PATRIOT Act. But that's another story...

If you are making bank transfer in euros between EU countries your bank should not charge extra (or only very little).
-
Well, although that should be the case, they say they cannot guarantee the transfer without an additional fee. Even if its say 5 euros (I think it's a fair amount more), it seems a bit of an arse to have to pay 10 euros more for some software due to the limitation in payment methods. Going down to the bank to make an international bank transfer is a pain. People want to click and buy, and download.

Buzz:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2645
as you can see from the news item you can use paypal and so did i, but a long time ago.
@everyone else.
The program was cheaper before , it was 15 euro but then it was locked to 1 drive only and update for a new drive was 6 euro more..
Everyone complained about that solution so since 0,4.0 he has removed the locking to 1 device solution and now you buy it as a full package and it works on any drive.
Well worth the investment nontheless and now he did native versions of it and if people find more excuses not to buy now...then they never will buy it.
i suggest everyone stops moaning and just either put the money in or just ignore, he is one of the last developers there is who is actively supporting his prodcts.

THen your bank is just trying to make excuses. Bank transfer between EU countries is not different from local bank transfers. They tend to charge handling costs but it is just few euros.
Though not all banks are aware of EU regulations and think they can ignore it...

I could not agree more. PayPal works better than most banks.
-
The bank fees were expensive, but my local usergroup shared the burdern amongst ourselves late last year. We registered 8 or so drives in one go (mostly for our AmigaOnes).
-
As Itix said inter EU banktransfers aren' allowed to cost much more then local transfers. I never had to pay anything for the few EU banktransfers I made this far but I guess that depends on the bank. I surely doubt that charging 4 EUR by the receiving bank is in allignment with EU regulations but I won't argue about that.
As for the discussion about banktransfer vs. Paypal it is a matter of personal taste I guess. I for myself would never ever use Paypal or something similar.

Hi,
Ref Bank Electronic Transfer charges in the UK, the following banks wanted to charge me the following to transfer £14 by electronic transfer to Germany last year.
HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation £14
Lloyds TSB £14
Abbey £25
and yes they are aware of the EU rules, just dont follow them, cause they have too much power.

Yeah, UK banks to me have always seemed to be above the European rules, not to mention run by {bleep}s and staffed by idiots. I'm in Ireland and have had a lot of dealings with them, with miserable results every time. From my Irish bank I can transfer to a UK account (or any other European account) for €0.25, and that's online so I don't need to go down to the bank. To do the reverse they charge huge money, and most can't do it online... Any other bank in any other country in Europe seems to know what they're doing, why can't those muppets? :madashell:

*edit*
Hehe, that's the first time I've ever set off a censorship rule on a forum :-)
-
I would suggest that he also accept INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDERS besides the bank transfers............they only cost 99 cents and are FREE to cash for the reciever of the Money Order....you buy these at your local Post Office and cash them there too!
Very Reliable!
He could also accept Western Union Money Transfers...but that costs the payer $15
-
Paypal is still the fastest and one of the safest ways to do it but from the description on his website Paypal is not fully operational there yet. I will have to wait until it is.

Dont you have the authority where you can make a complaint regarding this misbehaviour? I will not help you now but could help other people in the future. IIRC there was similar case in Finland with some banks but people made complaints and banks had to fix their taxing...

I have updated my site recently. i lost track on paypal few months back, but it seems they have extended their service in poland so it works just great. I have already accepted some registrations via paypal and seems there is no problem with that. Sorry for disinformation.
the site has been updated as well :).

I also send him a message last week and never got a reply,I sent one today and I don't know if I'm gonna get response.
Get an error message after constructing the tree and building an image to burn DVD and don't know how this works on no registered demo.
Can anyone help me ?
