Pencils down everyone!
While we may be able to do this again in the future, no more questions can be entertained at this time as the list has been correlated and sent to Amiga Incorporated's Bill McEwen for his input.
While I sincerely tried to fit in all legitimate questions, there were just so many good questions asked that the top 25 filled up before we even broke a sweat correllating them. Thanks for everyone's help.
You can see the list, exactly as I sent it to him at http://www.amiga.org/AIQuestions.php
{Editor's note : VERY special and personal thanks goes to Argo for his absolutely incredible help in getting these all together and sorted in a very short notice}

good questions.. it will be interesting to read assuming we dont get answers similiar to the PR Director of Iraq... you know.. the one that said US tanks were not in Baghdad but you could see them rolling in on the background.. lol
-
Nice!! What a refreshing departure from the fluff questions elsewhere years past!!
Good work Wayne!!
Good work Argo!!
Good work AO users!!
:-D
-
brilliant, cant wait to see what the heck is going on a AI

Good work AO users!!

It would be hilarious if, after all those questions and kerfuffle, Bill went silent and noone heard from Amiga Inc. :lol:

it's no different than what has been going on the last several years.
I don't care.

Very good questions. I like the fact that many of them ask about proper licensing procedure, rather than dwindling on potential products that may end up being vaporware.
-
good list seems they will have a hard time answering that..
21. Would Amiga Inc. support/encourage Hyperion to port AOS4 to the PS3? Given Eyetech's apparent withdrawal from the Amiga hardware market, and the prohibitive cost of producing adequate PowerPC-based hardware in sufficient numbers, surely a port to Sony's CELL-based system is now the only realistic chance for the platform to return to the mass-market.
:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: is it just me or could you have picked a better question there as this one is higly unliketly to be relavant at all. is now the only realistic chance
indeed realistic to see sony agree to that hmm anyways dont bother my sarcasem i liked all the otther questions good work people

@adonay
No joke, these guys mean that really serious. On Amigaworld, some strange Italians had lengthy threads about the topic if Sony would or should ask Hyperion to port OS4 to the PS3.
There was a massive amount of dancing bananas and smilies posted in those threads. :lol:
Some even registered on PS3-forums and tried to convince the Sony-fanboys that they can't live without OS4 on their soon to be purchased PS3s.
-
sounds a bit like os4 on GC thats all..

@humppa

Some got to the trouble of registering themselves under a fake avatar pretending to be those Amiga fan boys...

@adonay
I don't know why everyone ignores this PPC platform...
http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=9905
It is the desktop processor that CELL isn't.
-
@lou_dias
I've been ignoring it like I've been ignoring subterranean splufterbeasts.
-
ignore it all you want...
it's cheap
powerful (~1GHz using 90nm SOI)
low power consumption
and more plentiful than anything called CELL or XENON.

@Wayne
Big thanks for taking this opportunity and running with it. I think you guys did a great job of filtering out the crud which should increase our odds of getting some answers as well. Kudos to the amiga.org team!
-
Woah, full steam ahead!
There will have to be a lot of diplomatic answers given but if we get a vague aparition of life in the old Amiga (/Inc.) then it's an eyebrow raiser!
Getting AmigaOS running on Playstation 3 is the ultimate dream really isn't it... the perfect revenge against Microsoft and the potential market of 100m+ customers (5x the C=64!)
I think maybe in return for answers a small one-off donation page should be made to help Amiga Inc pay for things that would otherwise be off the budget. And a kitty for the winners of Assemby 2006 would be nice too - they're ambassadors of the Amiga!

Sir,

With respect, it's not our place to pay for corporate expenses. Not wishing to bring up a very sore point, but we already did that with T-shirts.
Now, if Amiga Inc needed the money and wanted to come up with some sort of stock arrangement, that would be different.

Huh... Sorry, I already have the t-shirt! :oops:
Besides , what expenses would not be budgeted?
They are a corporation not a charity, if they can not make enough money to stay in operation... well, Spoof! They go out of business and their assets get sold.

How many Amigans would be interested in investing with Amiga Inc ?

There is a recent development that some financial groups will buy Freescale. Perhaps there will be an extra question, if Freescale decide to discontinue certain PowerPC products (ie: G3, G4, etc).
Q: What happen to new hardware if the CPUs are not available?

Q: What happen to new hardware if the CPUs are not available?
Hurrumph! Dejavue, 68K, X86......
.....
I told you so.........
Even Dave Haynie tried to tell ya! :lol:

How many Amigans would be interested in investing with Amiga Inc ?
definitely count me out.
-
@Wayne
I can't believe you let that question with the Garry Hare quote go through. The one where he said KMOS didn't buy everything at Amiga. There was a big press release and everything later on after KMOS had bought all of Amiga's stuff and then renamed itself to Amiga.
Did you let it through because you forgot, or because you were being sly and wanted the person who posted it to learn some kind of lesson? :-P
