WinAros offers a preinstalled HD Image with Aros.
This Version uses the free downloadable Version of Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 instead of QEMU.
Virtual PC offers more options and easier configuration.
You have to download Virtual PC by yourself.

The new WinAros Version is based on the Aros Nightly Build of last night:

A actualised QEMU Version of WinAros is on the way.

Hmmm ... Is Virtual PC 2004 better than VMware5 ?
-
what is that Vmware5?
-
:)
Well, similar to virtual pc - In fact, vmware was created first (correct me if i'm wrong).
So you may ask : what is virtual pc ?
;)
-
ptek,
ah ok I understand it's another pc-pc emulator
I have another question:
Have you tried this Aros version for Virtual PC?
here is working but very slow...dunno why
what is happening?
when aros start on VirtualPC a screen mode selection starts..when I select Nvidia cause I have a geforce 4 titanium it crash
which cards are supported?
but if I select any other of the vesa modes Aros is very slow...why?
can you help please?
-
@ Laser
I hope to try it later this weekend.
I don't know about AROS behaviour running on vpc. In fact, i don't have vpc :)
I'm going to try the vpc trial and see what i can do.

MS and VMare are both giving away their products for free. so get both
-
For free ?!
Wow !
-
well...now I know why this aros version is slow under virtual pc and Nvidia mode not works there
cause Aros is using vesa modes and the S3 trio driver built in on virtual pc is really slow
if you use virtual pc your video card will be a slow s3 trio card no matter if you have a fast geforce or ATI radeon video card on the host OS
I will try that wmware5 later ...maybe is faster or have a better video card support
anyways Aros is a bored OS
bye

anyways Aros is a bored OS
Charming!
bye
Oh! Good afternoon, Good evening and Good night!

Seems fairly fast to me. Not as fast a native, but not bad for an emulated environment.
