Title: A/NES v1.01beta1 released!
Post by: adolescent on April 18, 2006, 03:39:13 PM
A/NES is a Nintendo Entertainment System emulator for AmigaOS.

A/NES v1.01beta1 released! The major thing about this one is that FDS emulation is finally supported (80%). I think this is the first NES emulator for Amiga with FDS support(?). I'm releasing this as "beta1" since I've done alot of changes since the last release, I hope everything works as it used to do.

A/NES now supports the improved .NES fileformat aswell. The improved NES header now contains information about the region of the game (PAL/NTSC). This is now automatically detected and all the timing-settings are now removed from the GUI.

If you want faster emulation, be sure you use NTSC-ROMs.

Anyway, what's happened since the last release then except FDS?
# A few PPU bugfixes.
# Major cleanup in GUI.
# Improvements to installer-script.
# Misc code cleanup.
# Mapper0 sprite-related code optimized.
# Support for improved iNES fileformat (NTSC/PAL detection).
# FDS support (partial)

Well, on my todo-list in the near future is completing the FDS emulation (not much left to be done). After that I'll check out the (very) old graphics-code.
