As the last free (GNU license) AmiTCP - v3.0b2, has a buggy installer and can be a hassle to get working, I and fx decided to write a simple installation guide for it.
The guide can be found here (http://www.acc.umu.se/~patrikax/amiga/guides/AmiTCP_Install/).
Enjoy! :)

Excellent! Good work!

Odd, the root password bug doesn't happen here. The window simply shows up then immediately disappers. Perhaps it's the installer version?

@adolescent
AmiTCP 3.0b2 comes bundled with a version of the installer, and does not use the one in C: . What version of AmigaOS did you have on the machine you installed it on?
-
Where can AmiTCP 3.0b2 be found?
...and whats the minimum OS required?
Cheers

@lurkist:
Check the top of the installation guide for download locations.
Kickstart/Workbench 2.04 or higher is required.

It's definitely on the web somewhere - I've seen it before - Just takes some finding.
Mind you, Amiga Format CD 48 (AF133) January 2000 has AmiTCP 3.0b2 on it, and a shedload of other network utils.

@Hodgkinson:
Apart from finding it at the top of the guide, it can be found here (http://www.funet.fi/pub/amiga/gnu/tcpip/).

The guide can be found here (http://www.acc.umu.se/~patrikax/amiga/guides/AmiTCP_Install/).
It's not available at the above link any longer, but here (http://megaburken.net/~patrik/AmiTCP_Install/) instead.
