Title: Tao Breaks Through to the Next Level of Mobile Gaming with intEnt® GamePlayer
Post by: System on February 08, 2006, 10:13:29 AM
Software platform for mobile devices delivers first truly portable, native 3D experience on your mobile phone; opens up world's largest gaming market

Tao Group announces availability of the intent® GamePlayer, a high-performance, portable platform that delivers console-quality gaming to mobile devices. By delivering a native-level performance, in a portable format that leverages the full benefits of the underlying hardware, the intent GamePlayer has the power to unify the fragmented mobile device market and create a compelling revenue opportunity for major developers, content owners and service providers alike.

Analysts estimate that over 200m users will engage in mobile gaming by 2008 and over 400m handsets, manufactured in that year will be smartphones, capable of providing a rich gaming experience. The opportunity for game developers and operators is enormous, with the total mobile games market value predicted to exceed $18 billion by 2009.

Well, this is obviously what AmigaAnywhere (formerly 'the DE') is/was supposed to be.  At least in terms of niche.

Bleh.  I would still try my luck on trying to do development for the PSP or something like that. I still don't get the reason for trying to make 3D games on cellphones and stuff.

Amiga Inc spent far too long on DE/Anywhere with nothing to show but a few gambling games, they don't give a crap about OS4, so what's left for them now??

If the question were worded, "What does this have to do with Classic Amigas," the answer would be NOTHING.

But if you look at the half-cocked idea of Amiga, that Amiga INC has had for a while, I guess it would.
