Hmm... looks like it's in mint condition, so I supose it's rare.. Still, it's a lot of money..
-
Why not, if you are rich :-)
Personally though, i could never spend this much money on a game, just cannot afford it
-
That's insane! :-o
-
seer: well i am a collector , and i would never pay 102 pounds for that game and that box! ..noway... beyond that its rare indeed but this is a blowout! ... overkill... or whatever ... :D
though it was entertaining to watch it grow :D
seller must be happy though :D
pps:i have 2000+ boxed orginals for my amiga, and i still check ebay from time to time but r-type wasnt even of interest this time :D
-
I was in contact with seller as the bidding ended...
here is his comment;
Haymigga;
"No problem, you're getting rich! CHECK out R-Type! :)"
Seller; "YES I KNOW, LOVE IT. MONEY MONEY MONEY"
:-D
-
lol :D
-
What the hell where they smoking i bet they dont pay up.
This is my latest thing i got off of ebay my latest toy will make good cd player if i dont get it sorted. (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3052540759&category=3316)
it cost new between 600 to 700 pound.
-
WOW
I should get out some of those cd32 titles of mine and see what I get for them. Infact I should sell some of my old Amiga games(some of which probably wont work on 2.04).
Heck, I have 'Mindwalker', it's in pretty good condition too.
Trouble is the disk is in one place, the inner cardboard sleeve is in another, the manual somewhere else, and the outer sleeve in another place also. Oh, and the unfilled in warranty card is lying around somewhere too.
Wonder how much I would get for that? Or would it be better to keep it?
-
Damm! Id expect a gold plated disk for that!
/me rushes to find his copy of R-Type heh Ebay HERE WE COME!!!
-
Is that disk original?
Check out the bid history. People were bidding against themselves. Looks like a scam.
-
weirdami , yes its orginal.
and they aint bidding against themselves .
its called maxbid!.
and i doubt its a scam.
-
WOW, bet that seller can't believe his luck!
-
:-o
-
Also look how much thes magazines went for amiga format 5 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3050400389&category=3543)
and this one i have here myself amiga format issue 100 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3556854946&category=2243)
-
Wow I could be rich if I sold all my games with the boxes like that, but I would have sold mine for alot less, just incase somebody is looking for R-Type
Hint, Hint :-)
-
i got a floppy for a fiver !!!!!
a external floppy disk drive that is :-D
-
It really does remind you that Amiga Hardware and Software is a seller's market!!!
P.S. Why would anyone want to pay all that money for a copy of Amiga Format? It was crap compared to CU Amiga IMO ;)
-
Here the same:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3631454161&category=182 $49.99 for this game. I bought this game for 1 Euro at the BAS 2003 Show. When this geme was released, th price was about 28 Euro.
At the Dutch version of E-bay for 1 Euro:

That's krystynascreations-half, aka Merlancia. They always put their stuff real high and hope just one person bids. It works for them sometimes i suppose. I remember about 1 year ago they were listing Amiga 1200s for sale for something like $800USD on eBay.

I agree cu amiga was the best. :-)

@amigamad

it cost new between 600 to 700 pound.
ummmmmmmmm, have you got it fixed yet? cause i asked my sony friend and he said that optical systems cost like £60 on a cd drive, so it iwll be more on a dvd drive, so.... :-(
**edit**
oh yeah, and why is it so expensive new :-?
playstation 2 does all that for £129 :-D and more (games).
The only thing is, it's not a dvd player, it's a dvd-rom, that happens to be able to play movies, (i know it's confusing :-) ) so it's not like a dvd player, in the way that it can play vcd's and s-vcd's, and of course when they give away "films on dvd's" in newspapers, it's not a dvd, it's a vcd (although they advertise it as a dvd) so when i put it in my ps2, it doesn't work :-(

This one I understand. It's issue 1 and they are always very collectable.
I don't understand the R-Type price though. That's completely ridiculous. I wonder if the winner paid up?
-
bhogget: he paid up.
anyway if its riddiculous to be a collector then hmm! , i bought games for as high as 100ukp! , yes 1 single game for that price , if i really want it and i know its rare (i useually do) then i get it , but not at any price ofcourse, even i have my limits.
-

Have not recieved it yet the laser is about 70 pound from what i see on the net but i reckon thats not the fault. If not i got a new cd player.
-
Oh oh... another R-Type, same box, on Ebay!!!
Let's see how much Amigans will cough up this time around!

Ooh, can we have some kind of bet?
But then suppose someone could always rig it by bidding on the item, lol
-
I reckon anyone who pays more than say, 30 Euros is a chump
P.S. Which Win k'board key is the Euro symbol on, and which keyboards support it anyone?
-
I reckon more, look out for that crazy bidder called LEMPKEE :)
It's already past 30 UKP...
-
I'm gonna have to start looking for copies of R-Type....I could give up my job, and start a business as a secondhand R-Type dealer :-D
-
And the gameplay is way not much that worth
-
Lempkee = Chump ;P
-
lol :D
btw...here is a tip! , that r-type version is the rare one!, if i win this then i will be one of maybe less than 20 people :D
compare both auctions wisely and you might notice something...
oh btw did u know that... there is 2 versions of the same game ? :D
nah.... only joking...forget r.type ...its mine
lempkee=chump ? , more like champ :D and a collector :DDDDD
-
Ah, I get it (I think)!
The one that went for over a hundred quid was a 'Hit Squad' reissue, whereas the one you're bidding on is an original issue?
