"Dear friends,
It is with much delight that I announce my departure from the world of video game music.
The games industry has offered me a slow and irregular trickle of work over the last ten years or so, that has caused me a great deal of distress and illness, not to mention an irrational preoccupation with daytime television."
You can read Tim Follin's uncut farewell at his Home Surgery (http://timfollin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/). Tim composed such landmarks as Agent X, Bionic Commando, Chronos, LED Storm, Solstice, Equinox and Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future. If something's not working for you, change it.
All the Best to Tim.
I remember he did a tutorial in YS (Your Sinclair) about multichannel tunes. I also believe he wrote a 6 channel player for the original spectrum ! quite some doing that.
Enjoy your new career !

ecco the dolphin.... Man, i wanted to break my dreamcast after playing that game.... And i'm not commenting about the sound, it's the game play, good god, it's awful boreing. Good luck to you in what ever it is you decide to persue.

Ah! Good old Bionic Commando - got to be one of the best chip tunes for the beepy old AY-3-8912!
Didn't realise he wrote the Agent X and Agent X II tunes on the Spectrum... A huge achievement to get decent-sounding (when listened to via external speakers) multi-channel sound out of a CPU-driven buzzer circuit...
