Title: File Area for AROS is open for business
Post by: novaburst on August 29, 2005, 06:14:26 PM
The AROS Archives is up and ready to accept your files!

This web site will be the main repository for all AROS software, but we need your help. Software needs to be uploaded to the site. Developers are definitely encouraged to upload their own software.

The site has went through some changes. We started out with a Microsoft ASP coded site, but with help from Björn Hagström, we were able to have the site coded in PHP, which makes it much easier to maintain.
Damir Sijakovic did a great job on the design for The AROS Archives (http://archives.aros-exec.org).

This web site is supported by AROS-exec.org (http://archives.aros-exec.org) and is located at archives.aros-exec.org (http://archives.aros-exec.org)

I want to thank the following people for their help with the project.

Björn Hagström of OS4Depot.net (http://os4depot.net)
Damir Sijakovic http://free-vk.t-com.hr/d980/ (http://free-vk.t-com.hr/d980/)
Ola "4pLaY" Jensen of AROS-exec.org (http://www.aros-exec.org)
Nicolas "nicomen" Mendoza of AROS-exec.org (http://www.aros-exec.org)

If you have any questions, please post in the AROS-exec.org (http://www.aros-exec.org) forum, ask in the #aros IRC channel or e-mail archives@aros-exec.org

Thanks and enjoy!

I'm glad to see AROS progressing so well.
There isn't much on the site at the moment however.

I've thought about programming for AROS in the past.
Just recently my interest has been renewed. But after taking a look at the AROS site I'm not so certain. There really isn't much in the way of a programers reference. Instead I am told to dig up my old Amiga programing books. I don't have any...

Any ideas where to get the required information?
In case your wondering at this time I don't plan on writing any killer apps or joining the CVS. I'm just thinking about tinkering... But this could change. I might start with porting the Mind Driver (http://www.mind-driver.com)
 for the fun of it.
