I'm happy to announce that the first public version of DvPlayer is now available!

next time post a link to the DIRECT SITE.. not this 3rd party stuff.
-
you should think you of all people actually knew that SYSTEM is a news forwarder service.
System captured this news from AW and then it is a direct site.
instead of bickering and complaining...why not create news items before system do so if you are so scared of visiting 3rd parties. ?

DvPlayer OWNS!
great job cobra+chip!.
-
Now we only need OS4 for Blizzard cards :lol:
-
Amen!
-
This is one of those pieces of software that any serious OS needs to survive now a days. Good job!
-
Cool!
Any betatester with AOS4 on on his Cyberstorm has tried it ? How well does it go ? What gfx card do you have CyberVision ? Picasso IV. I'm curious to know the results on these.

Very good news!!
Great player indeed. :-)
@Nickman
He thats my jingle!!! ;-)

lempkee: actually, that slipped my mind. thank you for your gentle reminder. I'll try to do the same for you if you forget a rule here or there.

themagicM:
oops, sorry.
it wasnt meant like that.
-
no problem! It completely slipped my mind when I saw that. Then after the fact you and other mods pointed it out I just sat back and laughed. That'll keep the news aggrigator in line next time. :lol:
-
Actually, if anyone's to blame, it's me for not adequately describing what the aggregator is, how it works, and how to appropriately approve items to the moderators.
Job now done. Hopefully everything will smooth out now.
.... now .... in regards to "just submit news", the reason the aggregator exists in the first place is because no one was posting news, and I thought it'd be a good thing to grab news from everywhere. Then certain sites started protesting in boycott fashion, so, I guess no one really cares about Amiga news here any more :)

well at first i belived system = Andreas F (hollywood) as he seemed to post his news items ;-) but then i noticed it got into a system loop and i know he is too busy to sit on forums and upload news items ;-)

FYI
"The maintainer of avcodec.library released a version of his library without any AC3 decoder until the GPL debates around it are cleared up."

Just because a CSPPC (or BPPC) machine is running OS4 doesnt suddenly mean its going to have a lot more processing power at its disposal so expect DvPlayer to run aswell as any other WOS movie player does under OS3.9. Perhaps fractionally better but not more than that...
Ive used DvPlayer on both my CSPPC and BPPC machinens and it works fine, I can watch simple VCD's with no problem... anything more and the machine runs out of horsepower, but that has nothing to do with OS4 or DvPlayer and everything to do with the fact that its still the same old CPU.

@Ryu
Aha! Thx for replying. I was counting with more processing power actually, as context switches are gone with AOS4. But from other discussions I remember that with the CSPPC the major bottleneck is probably the Gfx card (wich one do you have BTW?).
