Great news! :)
Now when they say drivers for Radeon 7X00 what would happen if I install a 9200 instead? Limited use or no use at all?
-
@Delta, probably 2D works ok but hardware acceleration support doesn't yet (Warp3D).
-
Good enough cause I have an unused 9200 sitting around here :)
thanks!

Is there somewhere a list of OS4 applications that I could be using when OS4 finally comes out and I can get myself an Amiga One?
There's probably not an OS4 specific video editing program yet (which is what I'm most interested in), but does anyone know if the old video toaster software will work on OS4? (Has it been freewared?) Was there any other video editing software for Amiga? What is it and does it run on OS4?
Is there an OS4 specific VE program in the works?
-
@weirdami: I don't think VideoToaster would work, if it makes accesses to the custom hardware of classic Amigas.
I would also like to see VE software and FireWire drivers of course ;)
-
Isnt there a list of Apps that are OS4 Friendly on www.intuitionbase.com ... ?
Infact,,, here is the ..

linchpin:that liost is sadly totally outdated and since then huge amounts of stuff has been tagged "working" etc.
anyway people aint good at building databases, a typical phenomen....
i wish i had more time :-)
-
delta: check the news item on aw (about the pre release upd 3) as this thread/news has a complete list of supported cards for 2d.
as for 3d accelerated , 7000 to 7500 for now.

How did someone become a registered user of Amiga OS4? Is this for beta-testers?
-
So has anyone tried this update yet?
I'm all for AOS4 getting better. If it keeps going eventually they will have to find some hardware to run it on.

Do the Amiga dance!
-
@amiga2000: use the serial number when registering your product on Hyperion's website.
-
@strobe: I think many have. Some people have had problems but good feedback overally. I have heard that compatibility got better, network faster, people have got DMA enabled, GX kernel bug fixed etc etc etc.

Thanks Hyperion! I'm watching a DVD at full speed no with Mplayer!
-
congradulations guys! I am still waiting for 3D for Radeon cards on the Pegasos!
-
Which app did you used to watch dvd? What about the speed of divx in microAmigone? :-D
-
How did someone become a registered user of Amiga OS4?
You have to buy an A1. OS4 is bundled with it.
Is this for beta-testers?
Yes, both the official beta testers, and those of us who are willing to use an unfinished product for whatever reason.

@ Strobe:
So has anyone tried this update yet?
Yep. It took about 3 minutes and about as many mouse clicks to accomplish. Things are running faster, WarpUP software (AmigaAMP equalizer) works now.

Glad I got my hardware when I did, so I don't have to wait for more production. This is the best AmigaOS experience I've enjoyed since 1985. And my '060 4000 with OS 3.9 was no slouch.

@Dagon
You can watch DVD with the Mplayer or the DvPlayer.
With a µA1 G3 750 GX is the DivX 3,4,5 speed great.
Divx can you watch with Moovid or Mplayer.
