It is a Commodore A1500, which is a steel-cased desktop computer, with a main board very similar to an Amiga A500, but with expansion slots. The case is good and solid, so you can put a big monitor on top. The power supply is a heavy duty one, so if you can get them, you can add more expansion cards.
It has a G Force 68040 processor card with SCSI interface and a hard disc drive. The card has the maximum memory it can hold fitted, I think. I can't remember how big the hard drive is. In modern terms it is sure to be tiny, but you can add more SCSI devices.
It has an Ariadne II network card in it, so if you know how, you can connect its coaxial connector to your network. You will have to make it work. I have forgotten how, but I think it may need software called Samba. I didn't finish sorting this out.
It has a Syquest 88MByte SCSI drive, which takes removable 88MByte hard disc cartridges. I'm including four cartridges with the machine. I will also be selling some unused cartidges in other auctions.
There are two floppy disc drives.
It has an Amiga keyboard, which says A2000 on it. Commodore didn't bother to make a separate A1500 keyboard badge.

Ya know, the first Amiga I ever saw was a 1500. Pity I can't find any on this side of the pond.

If only I had a credit card... :-(

never get a credit card, they are evil. Now if my credit card was not at it's limit...
-
Its funny you should say that, because Ive just applied for one, specifically for things like eBay purchases...I may have to think twice now... :-)
-
Considering that A1500 is nothing but two floppu version of Amiga2000
it shoudl not be too hard to make one. :-)
Yep I had a2000 many years. It does not have elegance of A3000 but
it's build like a tank.

Is it just me or does anyone else find the GForce / GeForce names a bit throwing sometimes? :-)
-
Only thing wrong with this is its a high start off price which might mean it does not sell .I wish i had kept my a1500 instead of giving it away. :-)
-
What do you think is the going rate for an A1500 nowadays? :-)

Not sure it does have an 040 so i would say its worth somewhere over a 100 pound.without the 040 and network card i would say between 50 to 70 pounds.

The guy who is selling it doesn't seem too sure. I would like to buy it, but until i get a credit card, im stuffed. :-(

I need one of those myself i always use my mates ebay acount to buy anything i want then he writes the cheque and i give him the money. :-o

Even if I were to get one, you have to build up your eBay rating don't you? I might ask my mate to see if he will put in a bid for me... :-D

Best way is to buy a few cheap easy to afford items like amiga games some of these dont even make 1 pound and postage should be under than 2 pound . :-)

Damn right they are... a mate of mine has just remorgage his house to pay off his credit debts. He made a new years resolution not to buy any more electronic gadgets, then a week later bought a £1200 LCD projector to watch DVDs on :-o
I`m happy to stick with a debit card, I can use it everywhere you can use a credit card.. the only difference being that I can only spend what`s in my bank account and not get into debt.

You have to be kidding, without those Cards it would be worth next to nothing, maybe 10 Pound (here in germany you are very good to make 20 EUR of an A2000 but only when there is Kick 3.1 in it.
I agree that is is a collectorsitem of some kind, as it was merely sold in the UK in not to high numbers too, but then it is only tha badge that makes it different from an ordanary A2000

 Is a GForce 68040 better than my GeForce FX5600? ;-)
I would have bid on this if the starting bid was a little cheaper. I hope whoever wins it looks after it :-)

@Lemmik
True, but Germany is probably the best place to buy Amiga hardware in Europe, so maybe that's why it is cheap there :-)

but some machines are worth more in difrent countries in germany they might be more common .Its the same with the a1000 in england they sell for a quite high price but in america i have seen a company on the net selling them working for $30 . :-)
