or

registering FP is the best method for the future of this program.

does it have progress bar like of file list as seen in Nero or EasyCDCreator? When I Drag & Drop files from Magellan to FryingPan window - there is no possibility to see how big file list is...!?
-
Just downloaded it and tried to run it but it just locks my system (very latest build of OS4 running on AmigaOne)!
Previous version 0.3.2 runs fine, tried running new version on it's own... no joy. Then tried updating (by copying over latest files) my working installed version... still no joy!
Are there meant to be different executables (68k, MorphOS and OS4), as I can't see them from looking at the archive?
-
Starts fine here with MorphOS. I didn't try burning anything yet, though.
Update: Tried burning and it works just fine.

gday sicky
works perfectly on my A1 OS4 just have 70mb limit
have sent reg money to Thomas for my dvdrw
-
It would be nice to be able to burn dvd's with OS4, but with this kind of :crazy: registration system, no thanks :hammer:
MakeCd and K3b will do just fine, despite the need of switching back and forth between Debian and OS4.

Not really. If you want to back up your harddrive, what's better, having 7 CD or 1 DVD?
I have my entire CD collection as MP3s. When I needed to backup all 23Gigs of it, I only used 6 DVDs to back it up, otherwise, it would have been about 34 or 35 CDs.

Too bad there's no OS3.9 WarpUP version. :-(
-
So whats the deal on the Shareware/demo version. Can you burn with it or not? If you cannot burn that is crap, nobody will pay for it if it they cannot test it. To have a beta as shareware is also crap. The final version should be shareware, not dodgy beta versions. Sigh
-
I question the licensing costs - I have to pay again just because I want a newer or different drive??? What happens if my drive dies and I need to get a new one?
No way in the world would I but this software.
-
The registration costs seem reasonable, I suppose. However as-is it is virtually impossible for someone in the USA to register. An international bank wire transfer costs $40, not free like in some EU countries. Also I have no way of obtaining actual Euro currency, and even if i could no way I'd mail it.
Needs to be a better way.
-
what kind of sh*t deno is that? You can only test burn???? LAME! At least u could burn at 1x or burn lets say 3 times and then lock...
-
Paypal doesn't charge anything like that... it's relatively cheap for international xfers, also does conversions to a few different currencies...
-
The only 'crappy' thing is you. Go and **** yourself with that kind of comments. I'm gettin so nervous when I see comments like this one. This software is very good, and that's a fact. It's also worth it's price. If it's bad to you - just don't use it.
-
I dont see what was so bad about the comment really?well to get a reply like that anyways.
-
@jeffimix
PayPal is not available to Poland. You have to do an international wire transfer. In all US banks I know of that it between $40-$50 to do one.
I don't mind paying to register, the cost seems quite reasonable to me. I'm not crazy about the per drive requirement, but considering how cheap it is per drive it's reasonable. People complaining about the per drive requirement should remember the cost of other commercial burning software is ~$70-$80USD and is no longer supported.
As soon as there is a way for me to register I will, I'm not paying a $40 wire transfer fee for a $15 registration though :-(

So what's happens next year (or next month) when your drive burns up and the author can't be bothered by the Amiga market anymore? (let's not forget the lessons of the recent past).
I'd rather the key file was tied to ME and not my hardware.
BTW, I LIKE the software -- it's works perfectly here and is more intuitive than MakeCD. I also think the registration price is dirt cheap (not that I can register anyway, since I'm in the States).
I have nothing against an author being paid for his work (and protecting himself from pirates). I just don't like the way this particular author has chosen to do it (didn't like it when Microsoft did it either!).
I register EVERYTHING that I use (I've jumped through some pretty tough hoops to do so, too), but this one is over the line.

@baderman:
this DEMO is crap. It is like making an archiver but you cannot create the file, or making a painting program that does not draw... this demo is as good as its screenshots... and how will I know it works REALLY? AFAIK this could be just a program that displays a lame progress bar preteting it is doing a test burn.... If it is your program, make a better demo... I cannot recall any demo burning soft not being able to burn! it sux

@keropi
Real productive.
I'm tempted to explain to you what you're doing wrong, but I think I'll let you figure it out for yourself.
-
@klesterjr:
How many have complaint you said? I heared someone said that he is tired of these kindof complaints... If u cannot understand that then there is nothing I can do for you... I am not discussing it any longer, everyone can do whatever they want with their progs... just don't expect people to see the "light" and register!
