As announced a few days earlier, a version of the UAE for the PocketPC platform is available.
Pocket Insanity at Sourceforge:

Congratulations to CeRial for the release!

I have been using this program all day, and it works almost perfectly on my ipaq 1945.
I have an AVI of Workbench 3.1 booting on my device along with some screenshots on my website

:-(
I can't get it to work on my iPaq 4150! I'm using roms from AmigaForever (v4) and tried some adf files from BTTR, the Workbench disks from AmigaForever and some of my own games.
I've had no luck yet :-(
Still, it's obviously a Beta and I'm impressed that someone has made PocketUAE.
@nagaflas
What would you say the speed was like? tried any games? Everytime I've tried to access your webpage I can't get on
-
The Speed is impressive for the PPC. In order to get most games looking and sounding right, you have to use a frameskip of between 3 and 5. Some games, such as Addams Family, simply will not run at full-speed yet.
Workbench stuff is also full-speed. If you use PocketUAE in portrait mode, you have access to the keyboard. I'm been playing around with some old Fish Disks and cover disk images, and they all work well.
I am right now attempting to get Shapeshifter and PC-Task working.
This software can only get better.

I though this could never be done. I've been proven wrong. Congrats to developer for putting your effort into this port! :)

Works on my HP 4150, using the ROM from my A4000, which is 3.1
Tried a few games, like ProjectX and SuperFrog and they seem to run fine, albeit a little slow and with crap sound, but as someone has pointed out, it's still only beta.
Well Done to the author!

Got to get home to try it!!!! One hour left of work....
Tick tock tick tock tick...
-Edit- I hope lots of people donate a little something to motivate him :-)

I can't dl the binaries? can some one email them to me?
-
Cant download it here either, can someone who has it put it up on a mirror please and make my toshiba ppc very happy ;-)
-
I downloaded the binary as well as the source but I dont have access to a PocketPC ATM so Its not much use to me.
I can upload it if you have an FTP to put it, I compressed it using WinRAR though.
PM me a link to upload it if you want.

I have a copy of the .zip file on my website:

Anyone who has tried this, please contribute to the main thread in the Amiga Emulation forum, so we can share experiences and tips :-D

WOW! This almost makes me want to give up PalmOS for PocketPC. But here's the real question... playing old Amiga games is one thing, but can I run FinalWriter97, TurboCalc, or Pagestream? If so, I'll definately have to switch.
On a side note. I seem to recall a version of AROS being worked on for Palm devices. Anybody know if there's anything new happening there?
-
:-? How on earth did you get it to work.
I have downloaded the binaries and have the ROM images from Amiga Forever 5.
I think the problem for me is understanding and editing the config file.
Has anyone got a sample config file I could use (not the one supplied with the binaries).
Thanx a lot.
