News for v0.5
-Bugs have been fixed and support for windowed Warp3D applications has been added.
-Preliminary, native StormMESA (OpenGL) support has been added. We would like to know if there is interest in a further developed version. By adding support for recent OpenGL extensions Amiga applications running in WinUAE could achieve the visual quality of native Windows applications.
See here (http://kontechs.de/?page=product&product=QuarkTex) for further details and downloads.

Sweet, I was just toying around with the idea of making a warp3d compatible software based rendering library, mostly for use in UAE. No need for that anymore.

[edit]

Can report that it works quite nicely with d3gnop on a radeon 9600 in full screen mode. Windowed mode doesn't display anything.

I've been using version 0.1 with WinUAE for quite a while now, mainly to play Payback in Warp3D mode.

I downloaded the new version 0.5 last night and noticed that although many bugs have been fixed, windowed mode doesn't work yet, and I'm convinced that 0.1 was faster, particularly with busy scenes in Payback. But it's definitely a lot more stable and it works fine with Payback (http://www.apex-designs.net/payback.html), MiniGL games (http://www.nic.fi/~varsa/games.html), and the demos in the Warp3D install archive.

I hope that this continues to be developed.

Steve.

I never managed to install this wrapper.
I have installed the latest warp3d and then copyed
warp3d.library from quarktex archive to libs: but it still does not work dont see anything when running the warp3d demos. Do you have to edit something in startup or what??

As cefa points out installation isnt very straightforward, can someone who has got this working produce a step by step  guide please.  The readme file is a little vague.

TIA

1 Copy quarktex.alib to your winuae directory (windows side)
2 copy warp3d.library to libs:  (amiga side)
3 have a beer, you're done

I haven't tried to get storm mesa support working yet but I found the instructions to be quite straight forward.

Except that in step 1, put quarktex.alib in the WinUAE directory in a sub-directory called alib, eg. ../WinUAE/ALib/.

It really is as simple as that!

Whatever you do, DON'T install Warp3D first, as you would with a real Amiga. The QuarkTex download is all you need! :-)

I installed this, and also installed StormMesa and copied the agl.library over the stormmesa one as directed. However, I can't get most of the demos to work (the OGL logo, the ideas demo and the sky one with the paper aeroplanes work, but atlantis, underwater don't).

Most upsetting is that GLQuake doesn't seem to run  :-? . The screen is just completely white. If I press ~ to bring down the console, I don't see it, but can type timedemo1 demo1 and hear it going, plus I can see a black & white untextured gun and the untextured zombies, but no walls or anything else

I've just downloaded the Payback demo to see if that works
