"Amiga Forever 6.0 not only more than doubles the preinstalled software, but it includes new Amiga ROM and OS files (as in Amiga OS "3.5" and "3.9"), a built-in web browser (great for safe surfing and for HTML testing), Cloanto's KX Light GNU/Linux distribution (yes, it now even boots from CD, without Windows!), and so many items of historical interest (like new videos in VHS and S-VHS quality, including the 1985 Launch of Amiga event) that we are confident that you won't want to miss this gem.
There are so many new features in this milestone 6.0 version that they would probably risk making this email too long to be readable, so please do visit the new AmigaForever.com for complete descriptions, which include a wealth of screenshots and animations."

Gotta love Cloanto's continued commitment to this project - got my order in already :-D
-
Ordered a few days ago! :-D

When I get off work tomorrow I'll jump through the hoops of setting up a paypal account, then I'm getting this Amiga Forever 6 CD version! Waaaaay too nice to pass up!
:banana: :banana: :banana:
I borrowed your bananas, Cecilia, I hope ya don't mind :-D
-
I want this!
Is it best to order using PayPal? Or use one of the resellers?
-
No idea which is best i have just orded the CD Via PAYPAL will see how long it takes to get to New Zealand. :-D
-
-edit-
:-D

Does anyone know if the KX-Lite version is installable to a HD?
-
That's what I want to know, too. If it is, I'll be ordering instantly.
-
I ordered it anyway. If it isn't already, installable on HD, I am sure some Amigan somewhere will figure it out. It has been 14 years that I have been absent from the Amiga world. Now I just need to figure out how to make my WB look like some of the screen shots I have seen. I have tied using UAE and OS 3.1 before but have not been very sucessful. Who knew changing Icons could be such a pain. Maybe some kind hearted person will take pitty on us newbies and invent the "TheamEngine"
-
Yes. It is installable to hd and usb flash roms !
Details will be posted soon on the official site...
-
Im going to get this sometime soon. :-)
-
Does anyone know if you bought the previous version if you can get a discount?
-EDIT-
I'm sure this info wasn't there before. Yet there it is. Doah!!!
-
I'm not sure, i got an email from Michael C. Battilana President, Cloanto
to click on a link to download Ver6 the cost $20US plus you need a previous version key file.
No idea as to the price via the normal website.

I wonder if any Amiga news site will ever do a review on this product? Or the last version...
It's a new Amiga(TM) product after all. :lol: :roll: ;-)

Michele Battilana, not Michael :-)
Is Italian :-)

These guys are truly amazing. I kick myself in the pants because I did not check my email sooner. The first 50 orders get a free Boing Bag sticker...
Can't wait to get my CD!
-
@angrybrit
I'm sure someone will. It would be interesting to compare this against WinUAE and Amithlon using the same hardware.
One guy on the IFX ML is very pleased with it. IFX now running at least 5x faster than his 4000/060 which, I suppose is ballpark for modern PC hardware.
I've been waiting for something like this for a while. Modern H/W support and portability all wrapped up in a $30 package.
Where's my credit card?
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

@jd997uk
wrapped up in a $30 package
30$ ? Where ?
-
@Zorro
Here. (http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry17c?CID=30392&PN=5&SP=10007&SID=13228&PID=353628&DSP=&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0)
Note this is for the online edition only.
Oh and it's actually $29.95
Actually, I've just realised the online edition don't have the Knoppix version. Ho-hum, looks like it'll have to be the $59.95 version as I'm going to try having an 'Amiga-On-A-Chip'(TM) in that I'm going to get it set up to run from a USB2 Memory Pen/card. Total system portability.

Maybe but it was just cut & pasted from the email
Could it be that he is not Italian. :lol:
-
I believe Michele signs himself "Michael" when exchanging correspondence in English, and as far as I know he is Italian. :-)
-
Have a Zaurus 5500. Is it possible to use
AF6.0 with it and how? :-D
-
Backordered??? How can my order status be "Backordered." I bought mine within hours of it being announced. How many orders could there have been?
-
@DFergATL
Perhaps the CD's are not back from the duplicators yet?
