Jim Farley, of Anachronism Industries, has made available the Ask Fleecy question and answer section from AmigaWorld.net.
"Due to many requests I have put up a temporary Ask Fleecy Mirror Page (http://anachronismindustries.com/fleecy/). This will stay online for the duration of Amigaworld.net's administrative problems."

You have to love the AmigaOS5 stuff in Session 20 - Sunday 28 September 2003
-
I don't really follow the Next Gen Amiga stuff, as I see Amiga purely as a retro platform, and I don't place myself in any camp - I can't see myself buying a Pegasos or A1 (unless the A1LITE is reasonably priced). But the name 'Fleecy' conjures up all kinds of silly ideas.
"Come here Fleecy, I found the velcro gloves!"
-
I particularly liked:-
Amiga Inc is fully committed to the development and expansion of AmigaOS way beyond AmigaOS4.0. Detailed planning and design for AmigaOS4.1 is already underway alongside the parallel path of AG2. AG2 technology will be rolled into the AmigaOS4 release family as and when it is ready but the two will not be dependent on each other - in other words potential delays in one will not affect the other. Contrary to the occasional speculation that Amiga doesn't care or has no plans for the AmigaOS, that product line is and always has been vital to our future success.
Written 4 days after Amiga Inc had sold AmigaOS to Itec... :-)

Is this done just to piss off people?? Suddently the blue trolls shows interest of the ask fleecy, after bashing it for ages... I remember ask fleecy was so little important, that it was removed from A.org's news section, but now it is suddently important enough to mirror? sigh

Is this done just to piss off people??
Why would you say that :-?
I remember ask fleecy was so little important, that it was removed from A.org's news section, but now it is suddently important enough to mirror?
I have nothing to do with Amiga.org policy since 1 almost year ago. This started as my own curiosity project, and I got alot of inquiries for me to share it.
I really don't get your angle :-?

AW.nets archive is accessible again.

In light of recent events, this Q&A has taken on a whole new meaning.
I'm sorry if you can't see the irony in them.
-
I just got word that the Ask Fleecy section is ONLINE (http://amigaworld.net/modules/fleecymoss/) again at Amigaworld.net.
I will probably be taking down the mirror shortly, as it's no longer needed:-)
-
The Ask Fleecy section at AW is now functioning and accessable to users again.

You should give copies to Wayne, as he is/was compiling a history wasn't he?

I forgot about that. I'll ask Wayne, if he wants them no problem. They probably need a little cleaning up.
-Edit-
The mirror is now closed.
-
Jim,
Please do. Now that they are no longer relevant and serve little purpose, aside from a reminder of the words and promises of the past, I will gladly add them, time permitting, to the Historically Speaking column (http://www.amiga.org/modules/soapbox/column.php?columnID=3) of the Soapbox.
I currently have a backlog of about 600 items that need to be posted -- unfortunately one at a time to the soapbox, then appropriately dated. These items date all the way back to early 1994, so it will take some time, but I need to have them on hand for the "when we get around to it".

In addition to the 'Nothing to Say' section proposed recently, maybe a 'Nothing but Hot Air' one would be an appropriate location for stuff like this?
Cheers,

Yes Amiga Inc. is very bad
so GENESI is better,
he SAID:
Genesi announced this morning that the US Federal Court in Washington State had found in favor of its request for judgment against Amiga Inc. The Court's decision grants full relief to Genesi, including source code access to the licensed Amiga operating system and the full use of the Amiga trademarks.
Whether or not Genesi incorporates any of these features long term into MorphOS or any other of it strategic plans will now be the subject of investigation. Genesi will have full descretion to execute the license agreement unilaterally and is now free to pursue damages against Amiga Inc.
"The Court's decision grants full relief to Genesi, including source code access to the licensed Amiga operating system and the full use of the Amiga trademarks."
GENESI BULLSHITS
:pissed: :-x

Tomas,
the way I look at this, the decision to not carry the Q&A as news is given a lot of credibility by the recent revelations that the Q&A was a bunch of lies.
You look at this differently?
-
Where is the proof it was a bunch of lies?
Go on, go assume pink fairies flying around the pegasos is also fact!It would have as much truth to it.
Please provide the details of the sale and what is included and what is bnot, not to mention the takeover details.
We do not know what deals were struck to make this sale happen. For all we know Amiga DE is still going to be integrated into os4 in the future, and the statement by Hyperion tend to support this. Make sure of your facts before spouting superfelous accusations.
I tell you, you lot are nothing more than a bunch of jackals, except jackals dont have a choice in how they behave.
-
Of course Fleecy is a complete liar and the Q&A is a sham. unless it is acceptable to pretend you still own a product and answer questions from fans who have no idea you sold the product 11 months ago.
The more you people continue to sweep stuff under the carpet the more it will come back and bite you on the ass.
-
"It's all Buck's fault!!!!!!!!11 GENSEI SUXX!!!!!11 Amiga SI TEH Ruleezz! SHUT UP BLUE TROLLS!!!111111"
Sigh. Still the same old deflection policy. If something bad happens, blame it on Genesi, Pegasos and MOS. Don't blame it on your dubious heroes, even though it's obvious to everyone but you it's their fault.
Stop trying to blame Genesi for all this, IonDeluxe. It's pretty obvious even to you that Amiga Inc has lied in your face. Why are you trying to blame Genesi and the blue trolls for this? Even if they didn't exist, Amiga Inc would still have lied to you. And probably you'd still support them. How long are you going to keep putting up with them?
-
I see nothing in my posts that even vaguely resemble that drivel KennyR.I hvae more respect for the language despite my poor typing.
Still, as neither of you provided the information to back up your accusations I can only conclude you do not have said information and are once again engaging in enflaming tactics that have no base.
Another thing....where did I mention Genesi? Kinda defensive there.
No, I AM blaming you people for your behaviour, for running off at the mouth again without a shred of proof to back yourselves up with.
Finally, depite your insinuations, I wont give two hoots about Amiga Inc if it proves that they have absolutely nothing to do with the A1 or AOS4 any longer, it will be a relif in fact.
-
The proof is on Amiga Incs website.
16-Mar-2004) Amiga, Inc. Sells the Amiga Operating System, to focus on AmigaDE and the Mobile Market.
Surely info on their own website would be classed as official? either they sold the AOS IP "On April 23, 2003" or they are telling lies.
No matter which way it goes they have lied yet again to Amigans.
-
Sold is one thing, the actual transfer of ownership is another. A house is a prime example.
WHen you buy a house here the transfer of ownership does not take place until some weeks have past.In this case it could be the same thing and likely is.
When you have actual documentation, or a statement from an AMiga Inc/Itec LLC representative to back up your statement then fine. Any other case it is just slander.
So please, show me these documents/statements.
Thats right, you CAN'T!
-
I'm not getting into this.. Except..
WHen you buy a house here the transfer of ownership does not take place until some weeks have past.
Bad example. When you sell a home the it is not SOLD until closing is done. If I come to an agreement with someone today, but I can't close until say Jan 2005, then the sale didn't happen now it would happen in Jan 2005. An agreement is not a sale.
If something happens in the house before Jan 2005, it is the responsibility of the original owner. If litigation starts before Jan 2005 any sale could be voided since there would be liens.
However I think they clearly stated SOLD in 2003 which would mean the deal was closed.
-
Still, as neither of you provided the information to back up your accusations
I think you are stretching credibility here.
I wrote a short summary for an answer because there isn't a need for a long winding response in every instance. In this case, it has already been established that the OS was transferred to ITEC 11 months ago...whether it was sold or transfered isn't important at all. The point was, whether they sold it, or gave it away, they were answering questions about a product they did not have plans to continue supporting.
It is so one sided and obvious....anyway, its clear you don't see it.
Btw, you did bring up the word 'pegasos' as if its somehow related. I do not own a pegasos, and I am hardly a fan of genesi. (no more, no less, than of kmos really).
as for slander...I am aware people toss out legal terms when trying to shut down conversation, but I don't think it is really useful in this conversation. It is not slander to notice that in the Q&A a lot of answer were given, answers that will not be realized.
in that respect, going back to the original topic, how could the q&a be characterized as news? At best it was speculation, and if you want to believe honest speculation, ok, but its still not news....that is where I came into this conversation, wondering how anyone could still claim the q&a was news.
-
Actually they said "aquired"
In any case, my point is that none of us know the details, and pick at my example as you will you understood the point I was making, and thats how things may work in your country, not mine.
You do not know that Amiga DE is no longer going to be integrated in OS4, you assume that.
You do not know that AG2 is not going to be integrated into OS4 you assume that also.
You do not know that any, all or no answers given in the Fleecy Q&A will not be realized.
All of this is assumed.
Have ANY of you sighted the paperwork on this, do any of you have direct knowledge of the deal done?
Of course you dont.
Stop stating these things as fact when in truth you can not back this up.When you DO have all the facts in front of you,and can then back up what you say, go for it, tear them to shreds, I will likely join you(if what you assume is correct) but until then stop flapping your lips about something you know next to nothing about.
