Title: Another HowTO: saving Gif's in IFX4.5
Post by: cecilia on February 23, 2004, 05:43:11 PM
MorphZone has a new tutorial on how to make gifs in ImageFX 4.5.

How to make Gif's in ImageFX4.5 (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=117) is my latest HowTO.

After a dear friend asked me certain questions I realized there was a pressing need to Know how to properly make and save gif's with transparent colors and looping and and all that good stuff.

Anyway, this is a PDF and everyone with an Amiga, a Pegasus, a linux and even (eewww) a Windows system should be able to read it. Of course, one assumes you have ImageFX. And if you don't....well, what the heck is wrong with YOU????
 :roflmao:

ok, enjoy, folks. My next HowTO installment series will be about the KeyFrame Manager. I can hear the baited breath's!

Thanks Cecilia,

I downloaded the superbundle version awhile ago but have not had time to play with it.

This might nudge me along.

@Cecelia

Firstly, a public thanks you for your help with my 'thought bubble' project, a couple of weeks back. It worked well and the subjects of my, err, "humor", found it amusing.
I'd be very interested in whatever magic you can glean from the keyframe manager as I've only done the basic stuff so far (Star Wars type animated text scrolling, etc).
Combining VirtualDub (saving video streams out as BMP's, with user selectable columns for numbering; .0, .00, .000, etc) with PaintshopPro (batch re-naming) on the PC, with IFX in the middle on the Amiga doing the batch processing has allowed me to do some quite groovy experiments with video streams. Seeing what else can be done with the Keyframe Manager will be intriguing.

oh, you are all wonderfully sweet!
this board needs a :cuddel:  smilie

anyway, the 1st keyframe HowTo will be a basic "101", an introduction to the GUI. and that's because this stuff can get complicated and some people have never even LOOKED at this, never mind played with it a bit!
plus, these things take time to make. :hammer:

but, they will get done! promise!

@Cecelia

A basic 101 is ideal for those (as you know) who haven't even seen it.

I recall wondering how I was going to animate a greyscale gradient to use as an alpha channel for a set of frames. Ta, Daa! Keyframe Manager. Piece of pie. Pick up the gradient as a brush, set the parameters, done.

Cheers

Thanks Cecilia!

My FIRST Home Page GIF-anim looped correctly, but then I made physical size-reductions to it which resulted in it loosing its looping.

Now I'd be able to make ver.3 loop . . . joy!
(That optimize function looks great too!)
