Title: New Version of UAE Released
Post by: lionstorm on January 06, 2004, 02:19:41 PM
New binaries are available for AmigaOS, Linux/x86, Linux/PPC, MacOSX and BeOS. The new version is based on 0.8.22r9 but expect a 0.8.23 based version soon.

Check it out at http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/ (http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/)

Ask directly M. Drummond. :-)
amiga binary is fine for me if it can cope the speed of the A500 with sound, which is not yet implemented.

Wow,  I'll have to try this out. It should run well on an 060 A3000. I'd love to have a modern UAE to run all those cool ADF games I make on my A3000. With an 060 its not as compatable as I would like it to be with old disk based games.

He is willing to do a PPC version if he can get some help. Here is the email he sent me back.

I don't have a system capable of running WarpOS any more, but if I can find a
WarpOS version of GCC that can build as a cross-compiler on Linux, then I'll
produce a WarpOS version. Same applies to MophOS. I don't have MorphOS myself,
but with the right compiler, I can do a MorphOS version.

Cheers,
Rich

Yup it sure does. The real chips are totaly unused. The ROM is used though so you wont have to dump one or look for one any place unless you want to use an older version then whats in the AMiga you run it on.

Oh My Gawd, that BeOS screen shot is a dream come true! Will it now run as fast in BeOS as it does under Winblows!?!?!? Does it have JIT?

It is Ironic that the world's worst and most evil OS has had the most advanced port of UAE for the longest time.

Now if only BeOS Max would actually work on my computer, if UAE is up to date in Be, I'll buy a second computer just for the occasion.

The JIT compiler doesn't currently work on BeOS. Sorry.

Ok, presently no JIT for BeOS, just read that on BeBits.com as well. Well does JIT work in the Linux source!?!?

The XBOX port of UAE is being based off the Linux sources so...

...if you got JIT working under there, and have Picasso support when compiled with the SDL lib support, then I'd say the future of Amiga emulation on the XBOX is at last looking very good Thankx to you indirectly! :)

Thankx a lot, I will deeply enjoy watching the progress of your ports, ecspcially the BeOS and Linux ports. So far I am having a great year and it ain't even my birthday yet! :)

peace!
