Title: PNG icons: How to make them.
Post by: cecilia on December 24, 2003, 07:26:41 PM
If you have MorphOS or Power Icons for OS3.9 I've made a PDF which explains how to make PNG icons using ImageFX4.5.  PDF of PNG icon tutorial (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=104)

Plus, I've made about a dozen PNG icons
downloaded from here (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=105). They are all butterflies, but I made them partly using ZoneXplorer. So, I think they look cool. But that's me..

:-D

Great idea!

I've been wondering about changing my icons, since I hate the standard set that come with MOS.

They are really ugly!

thanks fellas!
while I don't "hate" the icons that come with MOS, what makes our computers so cool is that we can have anything we want on them.

While I do like certain icon sets that look more "computer" like, I REALLY like icons that look more organic. and artistic.

and while no one has to like mine, I just want to help anyone out that want to make their own.

as PNG is 24/32 bit, you can easily take a picture and use it as a starting point to making a cool personal icon.

yup! PNG is good!

and did you see my tastless saddam icon here (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=218) ?
download it and change it's name to xxxx.icon and away you go!!

Call me slow, but I'm starting realise that PNG icons on the Pegasos hold all of that that Type and Default Tool and ToolTypes stuff that normal Amiga .info files hold.

Have they put an extra chunk in there? Where can I find info on that?

yes, i've had a bad month. pay no attention!

as to what and how MOS handles icons is all above my head.
I've looked for some info on this, but haven't yet found anything. nothing substancial, anyway.

If i do find something i'll post it.

at this point the really important thing is that it works. my icons work on my emulation and MOS, so that's all good!
