Title: P96 vs CGX

Couple of days ago, I had a complete loss of my CVision 3D64 card, figured it was software, 'cause the boot logo came on but nothing else.  Tried eveything to get CGX V4 going again to no avail.  Enter P96, Whoa!  Easy to use and setup, I'm very impressed early on.  Anyone have any tips on using P96?  Best regards...Art :-D

same as with me!

anyway a few issues with p96..., u need to try and find (after regging p96..send a email) the later updates (v2.x)..

p96 eats a tad more mem compared to cgx4.2 ,

benefits , its easy to install..very easy to use and its fast.

+ most of all u have tools like .. avail96  , get that!! , it shows how much free RTG memory you have.
there is more also...but i forgot now :D

I prefer cgx4.x much more than p96 on CV3D.. at least on Z2 bus. For example opaque move is horrible on p96 compared to cgx.. if anyone has tips for this, please tell :) I had also some colors wrong with p96 etc minor disadvantages. I have to use CGX 4.x because there is no driver for my video card (AFAIK) in P96.  I have a CyberVisionPPC gfx card on my CS-MK-III accelerator.

I currently use CGFX v4.1 but i haven't tried P96. What's it like, any good? :-) Do they support Blizzardvisions? I think that CGFX is pretty much kick ass and has never done me any wrong. Is it worth upgrading to v 4.2?

AFAIK OS 4.0 will support blizzardvisionPPC & CyberVisionPPC...

It is very much worth upgrading to 4.2 if only to get more stability and compatability. Its a must if ya using latest os39. ya wont feel an instant speedup, but you should see improvements. been on 4.2 for so long very hard to remember whats changed ;) apart from fixed to cope with new os39 exec n stuff.

As far as I know, P96 supports neither the CyberVision nor the BlizzardVision.  Out of luck there.

I used CGX V3 with my 3.1 setup
At the moment CGX 4.3 on OS3.9
I never tried P96 on a real miggy

I use P96 in my UAE setups..

Hhhmmm!

Me thinks that i should get the latest update of CGFX. Is it v4.2 or is there a later version? Where you get it from?

ARGH! Far too many files on there. Which is the latest one on there that i would want. I currently have v4.1.
