Title: SOS Call: Where can i get Microsoft Office For Mac?
Post by: CU_AMiGA on October 08, 2003, 03:00:58 PM
Hello!

I was wondering where i can get Microsoft office for Mac that would work on my emulated Mac using system software 7.5.5. The emulator i am using is either Shapeshifter or Basilisk 2. So if someone can direct me as to where i can buy it that sells some or if someone has one that i can buy off them, then that would be smashing.

Regards,

Thanks. I will have a good look on ebay. But if someone on this forum has this, and don't need it, then please make me an offer! :-)

Right! I have had a good old look on ebay and found this:

MS Office 4.2.1 for Mac! On 35 floppy disks! I am going to check with the seller whether it works on Macs with 040 (like the emu) and then wait until i get a reply from the seller that i am buying a 1.76mb floppy drive off of. Then buy MS Office 4.2.1 for Mac!

Office 4.2.1  works on 68k Macs (030+ or better) with System 7 or later.  Office 98 requires a PowerPC.

BTW, it was available on CD-ROM also.  So, if the price isn't right, the I'd hold out.  You might also check the Mac newsgroups, there's probably some for sale there.

Aren't Mac floppies high density? If so you'd have trouble reading them directly on a Miggy w/out a HD floppy drive.

Try a Google search for Mac usergroups, there's quite a few.

Edit: Ahhh, should have read your posts more thoroughly  :-D

Thanks i will try that! I am after a CD version and any old Office would do as long as it works under Shapeshifter or Basilisk 2. Just out of interest, are you running a Mac emu?
