Learn about Wings OS. It's a 16bit multitasking unix-like (QNX-like) OS written for the C64 and Scpu.
The link is here wings os for the c64 (http://www.king.igs.net/~billnacu/wings/) ...

Wow, so who's gonna port it to the Amiga?
lol ;-) :-D
-
I take it this'll run on the "Commodore One" then?
-
I bet it already runs on the pegasos . :-D
-
16-bit OS .... 8-bit computer. How does that work?
-
It already runs on THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4598&item=2759106006) :-D

@SilvrDrgn
It runs on the SuperCPU, a 16-bit CPU upgrade to the Commodore 64.
-
Hey Nate, when do you want those jaguars? :-D
-
@Redrumloa
Should be next week.
-
Does it have a SuperCPU? :-)

No offense to Commodore 64 lovers! :)
I hated that computer. The SID chip kept going out, it was crazy. It did have some great games though. Kind of a funny story. I had decided I would never buy another Commodore computer. So I went to Walden Software to get look at other computers they stocked at the time. There was an Amiga 500 next to a PC, and the Amiga 500 was displaying these great graphics with sound, and you know what the PC was doing (nothing much). I was like, what is this computer? And the salesman told me all about it, and then I saw the Commodore logo on the front of it. I told him about my disaster with the Commodore 64, and he told me, "It is not really a Commodore Computer, they bought the design from someone, it is much better!". So I bought it, and here I am.
However, it is still great to see a new OS for an older machine! I wish them luck with it.

Yep,
Commodore 64 was definately the best computer of all time. I even made the xfering cable for it to use my Amiga 1200 to use the 1541 disk drives. :-)

@ downix
It runs on the SuperCPU, a 16-bit CPU upgrade to the Commodore 64.
Ah.... that makes sense. Forgot about that upgrade! Thanks!

Hey Yogi27...
BOOO!!! HISSS!!!!!
I have 2 C64's and 1 broken (spare parts). I loved my C64 ever since I was a child. Being the beginner's geek I was, I started to program "Space Invaders" in BASIC!!! Not to mention TONS OF GAMES still on 5 1/4" floppies and cassettes! I still have that cassette interface which works 90% of the time. I still want that 1581 drive and a HD as well.
Anyone want some blank 5 1/4" floppies? Sorry, u can't have 'em! :-P

Ah, those were the days. Now you can't get anyone to even look at a computer unless it has at least 40 million developers making crappy, "free" spamware for it. ;-)
I loved my C64 and never had any reliability problems with it. The only thing that pissed me off to no end was the fact it only had two cursor keys.
"I said LEFT, dammit!"

It would be nice to have something like thsi for a Jay Minor classic like the Atari 8-bit, rather than some Commodore piece of crap that often times does not work now a days, where as I have only ran across one Atari 8-bit that did not still work.

@XDelusion:
Funny, I've had two Atari 2600's die on me, along with a Coleco Vision, but my C64, A1000, and A1200 are all in perfect shape.
