Genesi is coming to the Hilton Garden Inn in Washington, DC on October 18th to present it's PowerPC based computer platform - the Pegasos!
The Pegasos will be the highlight of this event. This is the latest model
from Genesi - and supports both G3 and G4 PowerPC processors. The Pegasos is
a highly affordable computer system based on the CHRP standard and supports
at least seven flavors of Linux including Debian, Mandrake, Gentoo and
others.
To compliment the Pegasos and provide a complete solution, Genesi has
developed MorphOS - a preemptive multitasking operating system. MorphOS
combines a modest footprint with scalability, high performance, and amazing
ease of use for developers and end users. Its beautifully designed interface
and modular object-oriented design offers a modern solution out of the box
and has amazing Amiga compatibility!
Some operating systems work through emulation including Amiga and Macintosh,
and other operating systems such as QNX, OpenBeOS and NewOS are under
development already.
You are invited to see our presentations and have actual hands-on experience
with the Pegasos system. We'll have many machines available showing you the
latest operating systems, applications, networking, Internet solutions and
games. For more information just email events@genesi-usa.com.
So come to the Hilton Garden Inn convienently located at the McPherson
Square Metro Stop (Orange and Blue lines). The event is scheduled from 10am
to 4pm on Saturday the 18th of October. We'll see you there!

"The UK ? .. whats that ?"
It's an island on the west of Europe, where the people haven't yet discovered how practical is to install a single tap/shower that mixes up the water in the bath :-? ... they still put two seperate taps, one for cold and one for warm.... now, how hopeless is that?!? :-D
-
So who else is going to be there besides me? :-D
-
What? No pancakes? Bah! :-)
-
don't worry Van_M, someday all civilized people will have proprer plumbing AND amiga/morphOS computers!!!
and i'll be at the CD show.
:-D

I will definitely attend! It's too close to my home to miss!
-
This *had* to be on Tiff's birthday, didn't it?

I will be at this event as well. It is going to be very exciting. With the recent IBM announcements and great Linux support for the Pegasos there should be a good amount of interest in this event. It will be in a very nice hotel and will be a good chance for people to see the Pegasos technology in an intimate way.
Hope to see you all there

I've seen several posts announcing this upcoming event here on Amiga.org, but out of curiosity, what other sites is it being advertised on? Have you any contact with Linux users groups in the area, for example? Or how about the numerous local colleges? (had today not been a holiday - no school - I would have mentioned the event to my IT class, alack that it only meets on Mondays, I should have done it last week).
Ah well, just curious...

Hi Oldsmobile Mike
How are you? I hope to see you at the show! We contacted several Mac and Linux user groups for this event. Of course, we contacted the Amiga group.
