No way brother, I want it first! :-D
Here's a couple o' pints for AInc, Hyperion and Eyetech, as well as to our fave dealer Doug from AnythingAMiga! :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint: :pint:

So what is the price going to be on these?
Dammy
-
Quite possibly Doug doesn't know yet, either.
tony
edit: Hey, youse blokes, quit splashing that Foster's on me ;-)
-
LOL tonyw... sorry about that!
-
That was sooner than expected, wasn´t it? Many said it would take long time to redesing the board for firewire and stuff like that and testing it, but now it´s here! :pint:
Where can I place my order? :-D
-
@Miffo
Where does it state thet the board will be shown in working/final stage ?
-
I think that Eyetech will sell lots of AmigaOne Lites... maybe they are changing their plans and want to release it sooner?
-
@ Kronos
Why would they show something that is not ready? What would the point be in showing a board that is going to be redesigned into a "another board" before the release? Who would want to se a board that is not going to be released, I would want to see the board that IS going to be relased.
So no, I think it is ready now! :-)
It would be interesting to know the price!
-
@Miffo
Because even Eyetech didn't expect it to be finished before Q1/04 just a few weeks ago?
Because Eyetech does have a long standing tradition of a appearing with non-working
and unfinished boards (if not to say mockups) ?
:flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame:

Hey guys relax... the show hasn't even been convened yet and you're already killing each other! The show is in a few days... let's see what happens then.
-
Agree.. Besides people were so nicely on same room at the Benlux show too. And no-one got hurt (at least I have not heard) :-D
-
LOL JoannaK! Let's all try to keep it that way :-D
-
@kronos:
Like the CyberstormsG4, ABox, PreBox and early ZIF-Pegasos?
:-D
-
Bingo!
I knew there was a reason we keep you around.
Don't expect a working final version unless you heard it offically. Chances are it's the prototype we've seen in pictures or a new prototype. Just have to wait an see. Remember: Talk Lots of Pictures and for God' sake hold that camera still. I hate blurry pictures.
-
@Crumb
Can't remember ever seing a proto of the P5-G4, A/Box or PreBox.....
The ZIF-Peg on the other side was working, and it was allways made clear
that it was NOT the final-version.......
-
Yeah. Like that old Teron board Alan Redhouse showed around when he was first talking of the A1. Basically, It was a prototype, a working one, that evetnually was modified to be the A1.
-
i am so tired of theese damn arguements , can't people just keep quiet until we know something more? , if i wanted to see attack vs attack then i would be on ann.lu..
anyway lets see if its the final board or not..
i know i will get one...
cheers
-
I'm tired of it too lempkee.
I've stated many times before, that you all should not post until I've posted, and then not post any reply to my post, since basically I'll say all that needs to be said.
Now everyone go home and stop disagreeing with me.

yeah most of the time its doom and gloom from you, :-o
-
ack! help I'm being personally attacked!!!
seriously, amigamad, and I was kidding....
sorry if it seems like doom and gloom, I just call them like I see them.
On the other hand, sometime next year I fully expect we will have Amiga OS 4 to purchase, and that this market in general has already past its lowest point, and we will see an uptick in activity, interest, sales, and user community over the next coming year.
Hows that for positive!

I'm impressed! I hope you're right and we have really passed our lowest point.

They dont, and im fully on you with this one. I assume their showing a board that wont run anything. Ie, it wont even be pluged in. I assume some people like to see these things for the real thing because their electronic freaks and like to see the logic up close :) ???
I'd think it would be too soon for these boards to run anything. Again, i assume!

It looks to me like you're talking about the cancelled Escena/Eyetech "AmigaOne 1200", not a Teron board. Apart from the mini-ITX board discussed here, the A1 1200/4000 is the only hardware prototype/concept that's been shown or announced by Eyetech as an "AmigaOne".
All Terons have been sold as "AmigaOnes", luckily with no modifications to hardware. Although the first Teron CX mobos were not intended for commercial desktop usage so to speak, they were still not prototypes. And they were sold as "AmigaOne G3SE's".
OTOH, this mini-ITX board simply must be ready now, since it's already announced using the licensed "AmigaOne" trademark, right? I mean, just like the earliest Teron CX's, it must have passed through Amiga Inc's stringent quality and AmigaOS4 compatibility tests, right? Because it can't be that the "AmigaOne certification" is absolutely worthless to us consumers, that a former "hardware partner" of AInc has carte blanche rights to slap the name on whatever they can find, and that we could just as well be allowed to buy the exact same hardware on an open market, right? It just can't be. ;)
P.S. @ Argo: It's annoying to have to switch to Threaded mode and open individual posts to find out just to which post or to whom you're replying. Could you please include an attribution/quote with your followups? Thanks! :)

Have you considered applying for moderator privileges at another site? ;)

What is Seehund babbling on about? :-?
-
Hi Bodie_CI5
I'll be happy to clarify if you only told me what you find unclear.
IOW, what are YOU babbling on about? ;)
-
Yeah how's it going Seehund? :-)
I couldn't follow on with what you were saying in your previous post, like too technical for me sorta thing. Couldn't derive at a satisfactory conclusion, to me it seemed that your post was a little mixed up. By that, I don't mean having a go at you, but you lost me.
-
@Bodie_CI5
Ah, I guess it's just my non-native English and my run-on sentences that's messing things up again. :)
Anyway, there were no news in my post...
Basically, Argo said that Eyetech had shown an "AmigaOne" prototype before, and that was a Teron board.
The only "AmigaOnes" shown in prototype stage were the Escena "AmigaOne 1200/4000" and this new mini-ITX board.
The current "AmigaOne SE" and "PX" were never shown or sold as prototypes. Whatever Teron model that's been available at any given time has been sold as an "AmigaOne" straight off.
Clearer now? :)
-
Your English is fine, I just haven't heard of these Escena thingies.
-
@Bodie_CI5
Once upon a time (officially until Nov. 2001) Eyetech were planning to sell an "AmigaOne 1200/4000", a custom design by Escena. This was before they had seen Mai Logic's Teron and before Hyperion had taken over development of AmigaOS4.
Here's (http://eyetech.co.uk/amigaone/pics/a1pop1.jpg) a photo of the prototype. The project never went anywhere beyond this. Escena couldn't come up with a suitable northbridge chip, and it was also revealed that Amiga Inc had forgotten to mention that they hadn't even started on AmigaOS4. The Escena AmigaOne project was cancelled. This is how AInc's "on schedule and rocking (http://os.amiga.com/corporate/amigadepartypack.shtml)" status announcement came to live in infamy, together with fleecy's eyewitness report on how incredibly fast the inexistent AmigaOS4 was running on the inexistent AmigaOne 1200.
