Due to problems with the internet connection at the Benelux Amiga and Pegasos Show, the live coverage of the show is pending. We hope to go live as soon as possible.

@Kees
Don't say I got up at 17:00 in the afternoon for nothing. :-P

Gah! I was up at 10 (which is against my nature) only to be bored senseless all morning :-|
Oh well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, isn't that what they say? :-D
Good luck, Kees and co. i hope you get something up eventually.
If not, say hello to BenH from the #Amiga.org crew :-)
-
Ha, I was up before 8AM(EST), So there!
Come on Kees, We're not paying you nothing for Nothing. ack now I've gotten rangled in to moving furniture, now see what you've done. I could have slept in.

How about this live coverage:
Love the amiga.org mag issue 0!
Hehe. I work in the same building as the one the BAS is being in held and in the office we have a proper internet-connection :-P
I must say the show is a lot smaller than I expected/hoped for, but hey.. the Frieden's are here showing Amiga OS4, I've seen Pegasos in action (for the first time I must confess) and I like it as well (that's right.. it's possible to like both, I'll probably end up buying both an AmigaOne and a Pegasos).
OK. Enough for now.. I'll go back to the show.
Regards,
Onno

Pending becomes cancelled?

Well, then hook up a webcam and stick it in there. :-D

Me too. It was a bit overhyped I think. But I still had a lot of fun there. I got there early because I was afraid I wouldn't have any parking space if I got there late... silly me :-P
I did win a MorphOS Super Bundle in the lotery btw, so I guess now I HAVE to buy a Pegasos :-)

Erhh.. it's quite a large building. I think I'm going way beyong the maximum UTP cable length if I were to do that :-P

So around how many people attended?
I guess the amount will decrease every year, along with the community userbase :-(

i feel the same way - ANYthing that looks and feels like an Amiga makes my fingers tingkle! :-D

Ah that was you ?
/me got that A2000-2-AT-keyboard adapter :-P
Hope it is better than the Mikronik-sh** I had with my A1200 (reason why I
replaced it with an A2000).
Bout the show:
BurnIT allmost ready (and looking wayyyyyyyyyy good), light version
will be Phuperphundled :-D
A spreadsheet (ignition or something) I had never heard of before (and it has
been in development for >2.5 years). Still beta, but nice MUI-GUI,lots of features
and apparently a missing Wait() in the main-loop (it was allways eating all cycles).
But since that version was only compiled yesterday evening, and an older version
did not include that bug I would say, no serious prob.
Oh and yes again a light version for the Phuperphundle planned ;-)
Digibooster was shown running on the Peg,and the 1st mod the played came
from Lotus (2 I think).... oh those memories :-)
e.p.i.c. couldn't show Northland for MOS.This was (according to them) due
to a bug that made it imposible to get from the intro into the game.
Also something to expect from Santa (if not earlier).
What did I do when I was not talking (you know there is a reason why I'm
"Kindred of Babble-on") ? Mainly playing on them Pegs. Had to admit that
I suck at Wipeout(shown with HW-accel on Voodoo4), I suck at Quatsch2,
and I'm getting rusty with Knights&Merchants :-x
the only time I managed to crash the Pegwas when I inserted a CD-R with
my own proggie ...... seems like "back to the drawing board" :-(

Not from the Benelux show but from the Videoboerse in Germany:
Some pictures of BurnIT 3 (CD/DVD writing software) are here (http://www.udnimweb.de/Berichte/Bericht03_Otis.html).
Pictures of Papyrus will be published tomorrow I
was told.

on ANN wrotes someone that there
were only 50-60 visitors there! :-(
The Amiga and Retro Show last year in Aachen
was for me a shock after i saw only some
visitors!
Honest i must say i didnt visit the benelux show
because it was not really worth to drive many hours
to see only AOS 4.0 in a beta stadium and AudioEvolution!
I will visit the next show if i can buy something new!
a new Amiga of course! ;-)
but a big thank you to all the people behind the show
to make it possible!

Hard to tell. I didn't count heads, although there weren't enough people to make it hard for me keep up if I were to try that. I have a feeling it wouldnt be much more than 100-200 all through the day. But I may be mistaken. I don't think at any time during the day there were more than 50 visitors at the same time present. But these are rough estimates.
i feel the same way - ANYthing that looks and feels like an Amiga makes my fingers tingkle!
Indeed they're both good alternatives to the mainstream operatings systems and I've seen them both crash a couple of times today. Since they're both still in development. I'm sure they'll both be rock-solid once everything is finished. And I would like to get my hands on both solutions.

Anyway. I didn't take many pictures, but here you at least have 'proof' that amiga.org magazine (http://home.planet.nl/~schef711/bas/ao_magazine.jpg) and the Friedens (http://home.planet.nl/~schef711/bas/friedens.jpg) were there.

Quick'n dirty posting.
Came it at 13:00. Had ticket number 249. Counted aprox. 100 people (guestimate) at 15:00 or so.
Not much news. Was nice to see OS4 running (and crashing ;-)) on an A1. Toying around with Pegasi was also nice. But that took one hour I think.
Then I became bored. Talked a bit with oli, met ryu and his mate dave ('t was dave innit?).
On-show internet connection wasn't working and it's very doubtfull it will be working tomorrow :-(.
A.Org mag is looking good :-D. There were no speeches or anything. IMHO the number of visitors was pathetic :-x.
Maybe I'll make a more coherent report when I have more time ;-).
-
thanks ohno, odin, kronos for giving us some show information.
perhaps the numbers are disappointing but at least things are happening to improve the numbers for next year....
AOS4 on AmigaONE...thats neat, even if it takes 6 months to get it out of alpha state, looks like its a lock now.
MorphOS continues to advance....amiga.org magazine looks sharp....hope it rides a wave of renewed interest.
I have to say, that at long last, I think the amiga market is finally at its lowest....that is to say, the pendulumis will begin moving back up again. Of course the pendulum analogy implies that a downward momentum will result in upward movement, when in the computer business, that doesn't really happen...however, because of the efforts of Hyperion and Genesi, I think it will happen.
Of course Amiga shows, or Mac shows, or even PC shows of any size (we get some small pc shows), never make it close to my home in Nashville, TN....but....maybe someday I'll even get to see one of these shows.
-
Even last years micromart show did not have that many people there. They even had to get us all to bunch up a bit to take a photo for there magazine. :-)
-
Hi,
The first day of the show is concluded, our apologies for the lack of online coverage. The server and access point were working fridaynight, but didn't saturday, for some reason :-(
Although the number of visitors was not as high as expected/hoped for, there were a lot of interesting things shown as well as some interesting meetings at the show ;-)
A number of people were also made happy with the lottery, the Tyragroup prototype was shown in a few varieties, digibooster was running very nicely, OS4 on AmigaOne, MorphOS and Linux on the PegasosG3 and G4 models, etc.
Pictures will be up tomorrow and we'll get coverage online one way or the other!
Cheers,
Ron

I was not aware anyone was going to try to webcast the show. Good luck to the people that are working on it.
Hard ain't it :)
