PC Magazine has reviewed Apple's new dual 2 GHz G5 PowerMac. They say that the performance of Apple's new top of the line workstation is "generally as fast as the best Intel-based workstations currently available". Read the review here dual g5 review (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,1274182,00.asp)

Who wants to slap PC Mag for not getting their GB/Gb notation even slightly correctly? :-)
-
Who wants to be pedantic?
-
Pedantic or downright inaccurate? A gigabit is an eighth of the size of a gigabyte. Which would you rather have, a gigabit's worth of RAM or a gigabyte?
-

If you wanted to be accurate, then you should differentiate between GiB and GB, and between Gib and Gb. The ones with the 'i' are the ones you're looking for, as the G prefix is used for powers of ten, not for powers of 2.

Why those benchmarks are limited to 5 to 6 benchmarks?
Other benchmarks
1. Cinema 4D (CineBench)
2. Quake III
3. Unreal Tournament 2003
4. 'etc'...
To bad AMD’s Opteron/AthlonFX was not included in comparisons....

The Dell entry bested the G5 under Adobe Photoshop 7 and NewTek Lightwave 3D
