About USB Flash Drive:
The USB Flash Drive is a newly developed mobile storage device for storing and exchanging data of any type. It plugs straight into any USB port and is recognised by the computer as another hard drive. This key-size, shock-resistant universal device functions without external power supply and transfers data 15 times faster than a floppy drive. The Flash Drive memory can be re-written more than one million times and can keep the stored data for more than 10 years. The Flash Drive can be used as a personal, fast, portable storage device, which fits with the keychain or in the pocket. It is an excellent alternative to removable media drives for those who need to have their data at any place and at any time.

Hmmm.. I wish elbox would just start developing more drivers for the hardware out there. The best graphics card they have is just a voodoo and I would like to see something more modern.

And of what use would that be ?

The Mediator is allready a bottleneck when used with a Voodoo,so you
wouldn't get much more performance from a Radeon or similar.

And I don't think it would be easier to source PCI-versions of
"modern cards" than it is with a Voodoo.

What I'd like to know is what people are going to do with those Free
USB-drives. It'll need USB card and Stack to work too. I know they do
have spider, but last time I heard about it.. they did not have any
legal Stack to use it for.

(edit .. Found Kingston 32MB on 25USD, no name will be cheaper)

So... you get a free 32Mb flash drive that you can only use for 30 minutes at a time because you can't register the USB stack that you *NEED* to use it.

Errr...

Thats right. If they stopped giving stuff away maybe they could licence a full version of the usb stack which is of more use. :-)

Elbox had their own stack in the final stages of development before they were contacted by Chris.  I assume they have their developers busy finishing off this stack to supply with the spider.

You know that makes me so mad if its true. These guys have argued over the stupidest things. I have a Spider 2 that I cant get a stack for now because of this. I got it in the mail AFTER Chris decided not to allow any more Elbox users in his club. I really think the stuff about them being scared of the Spider may have been true. They out sold the zorro and clock port cards by a lot I hear. I dont see why he doesnt want that EXTRA cash flow.

But I agree, they need to stop giving stuff away and work more on drivers and work with developers like Chris.

I've announced it on the 21st of July. This was enough time to either cancel the order or buy a licence 'till the 1st of August.

Well, that's what a certain notorious user claims. However, I've got something he doesn't have, and that's the number of registrations (i.e. usable Spider boards with Poseidon) and I do too have the number of boards produced of the Highway, Subway and Algor boards. Both Highway and Subway boards have been sold out. And most Algor stock is nearly gone by now. The Spider is not even *close* and still factors away.

Again, my decision had got nothing to do with promoting other products. It's not about the money.

What exactly was the problem with users individually registering
software themselves.

If there was some worry that some Spider owners might use cracked
copies because they didn't get a registered version with their
Mediator/Spider, this action is more likely to force users to get
a cracked version.
