Title: September CAM Available
Post by: Argo on September 10, 2003, 09:15:17 AM
Finally, the September CAM (Club Amiga Monthly) (http://os.amiga.com/cam) is now available for members.
Nonmember can have a look at "ExecSG in detail: Memory" (http://os.amiga.com/cam/index.php?i=7&p=7)by Thomas Frieden, Hyperion Entertainment from CAM #7.

That was a good article. I'm not sure they're $50 good, but the articles that have been released so far have all been well written and very interesting.

That's because they are written by Hyperion NOT Amiga Inc. :-)

I am not sure what this article is about, but I would love to read it.
Unfortunatly I did not feel like paying 50$ for news.

The filesystem history document is a good read too.

I kinda feel the same way, i'd like to read the CAM .. but paying $50,- for it now, seems abit much for news only ....

THIS (http://os.amiga.com/cam/index.php?i=5&p=4) one is kinda cool.. has the old V4 dos library header for nostalgia...

Anyway, reading the filesystem article shows just how bloody difficult and time consuming the OS4 project has been for Hyperion..... I can see why the project timescale was originaly underestimated....

Well... Figured I should log in and see if I can remember my password. :P

In this issue: Editorial (really nothing to get too excited about), AmigaOS 4 Update (nothing much that we haven't heard before except for a few snippets), An Introduction to Pictures Datatypes, Game Frenzy (talks about Genetic Species),  Backdrops R Us (some sort of backdrops competition), Amiga Forever (article on Amiga Forever), User Group Spotlight (new feature, instructions on what to do if you'd like to have your user group portrayed in CAM), Members' Corner (some CAM members' profile.)

Hmm... Can't seem to get myself to read more then one sentence or two per page.

I agree the old V4 Dos heady was a great peice of history to see, but this is by far the more interesting article!!!

And certainly one I would recommend to people who don't understand what VM actually is.

Hey Amiga, Inc. doing the CAM on a regular basis, has been nothing short of astounding.

They never cared about the community, until after all their hopes and dreams had been crushed and they were completely bankrupt...but what that they finally figured out that they needed to make realistic promises and keep them...I'm amazed.

I'm not saying I think they are a good company...they aren't, and I still wouldn't trust them with the first nickel...but what I am saying is, that they promised a CAM, they delivered a CAM, on a regular basis, no excuses.

It's not worth 50 bucks, but for those that bought it, getting waht they paid for....I'm sure is an unexpected surprise...its heading in the right direction, its an inkling of a shimmer of a hope that they are starting to get it.

Good articles in the September issue of the CAM.

I found the article about Amiga Forever to be very interesting.
Spent some time over at the Amiga Forever site to read more about it.

Small campaign takes against AmigaInc. and all that happens around to its.
And the truth is that you are always the same ones.
If the CAM takes out that if it makes  Hyperion - that if AmigaInc. doesn't have money etc...., because well, I have paid the 50€ and up to now I am not defrauded by AmigaInc. , because I know that it is difficult to take out some products to the market , and I will continue trusting them until the finish(AmigaINC and Hyperion).
And although i lose those 50€  i would occur same since I wear out but money in other foolishness.

Please, you are always the same ones those that you jump to criticize to the minimum one as pests.

If your reasons are truly to discredit Amigainc., Amigaone and Os4, find me detestable, since Pegasos and morphos will triumph if it is able to have an attractive product and not because some individuals are devoted the whole time to criticize to the competition.

Of course that the critic is good and that Amigainc. (as other) they deserve it, but for you this practice becomes a norm.

For my part,i value Genesi and Amigainc very well. for the projects that they try to take out ahead (and if I can I will buy both systems).

i am sorry to speak english very bad

I'm just glad to see the September CAM came out, at least it lets us know some news on how things are coming along even if it was a little late again.

Hopefully they won't be late anymore because it is a little disconcerting wondering if its gonna come out at all, and seeing no new news about the coupon/shirt/discounts is irresponsible considering we were told that it'd be sorted soon quite a while ago.

Maybe someday CAM members will be compensated for all the delays they've had with A.inc delivering the goods.

( Free Aone's for all CAM members would put smiles back on a lot of CAM members faces and possibly restore some faith in A.inc ).    ; )

And so now we wait another month plus how many days to hear nothing about the merchandise we sent the fifty bucks for ?

Amiga inc. you have a responsibility to deliver the goods in a reasonable amount of time that we paid good money for, cough up the goods and stop brushing us off.

Any explaination about delays is better than no explaination at all.

Oh , and by the way, I thought this months CAM was a bit thin on substance. Hopefully this is not a trend that we'll see continue with future CAM's.
