My old A500 has a big problem. The powerled flahses 10x short and 1x long then makes a reset and it starts flashing again. Any advise what it could be?
There is no screen, nor the floppy clicks.

Have you tried reseating the kickstart ROM?
-
Reseat all of the chips for that matter.

I had a simular problem with an old kick1.3 rom, turns out it was fried due to being put in the wrong way... oops
be careful!
Reseating will proberbly help.

I'll try a new kickrom.

I replaced the rom (1.3) with an 2.05 rom and guess what. I get a green screen. Chipmem is dead or Agnus fried.
-
Do you have a ramboard in it?
-
Did you re-sit all or just change the rom?
-
I broke an a500 up that did this ages ago but all chips were tested and the only one that did not work was the rom chip so i tried a good 2.04 rom that i had not had that long and it blew the chip that was £24.99 wasted .
:-?

I guess this a500 is broken. Sometimes after several resets with green screen, I get a yellowscreen. Guru before the guru-handler was activated.
I changed all chipos against other ones from old (rev 5.0 board) but no luck.

Ouch touch luck:-( Any visible signs of damage to the mb?

I got an advice from the former service technicien of Commodore Switzerland. It cold be the 1488 or 1489 IC being defective. This chips have something to do with the serial port. As they cost nearly nothing I'll change them.

Worth a go :-)
